Hotel has undergone a major revamp. It has been modernised and impeccable. Rooms have all modern cons. Large comfortable bed and pillows. Both air con and Wi-Fi worked well. Whilst hotel does not offer parking facilities it is relatively easy to find street parking nearby. Whilst situated a few kilometres from the beaches it is a stone throw away from centre of town

We know the town well and needed somewhere for one night only, most apartments are a minimum of three nights so when this came up it was perfect from that respect and an excellent price. The apartment is lovely and clean, nice outlook, beautifully furnished. In fact someone is very good at furniture restoration. The bed linen was all attractive and towels matched each room.

The property enjoyed an excellent location, with a lovely view of the river, whilst also being only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of the town. It was well maintained and very comfortable- perfect for a couple. We also found Maria Jésus to be a very accommodating hostess.

We went to Ayamonte because of the 2 golf courses.

We went to Ayamonte because of the 2 golf courses. The Links course, our favorite, is 2 minutes away on site,. The Old Course is 20 mins away the other side of town. Both courses are fairly flat and walkable without buggies. There are several other golf courses close by in Portugal which are worth a visit but are more expensive. We have been going to Ayamonte for the past 18 years, staying for 4 weeks and driving by car from Bilbao ferry to Ayamonte.. The route through the mountains on good roads is very enjoyable.

Ayamonte is a lovely town especially during Semana Santa.

Ayamonte is a lovely town especially during Semana Santa. It is very walkable with interesting neighbourhoods. There is a good selection of cafes and restaurants. The beaches of Isla Canela are close by, as are several golf courses. And Portugal is just a ferry ride away.

Delightful town with bars, tapas, cafes aplenty. Easy to find your way around. Don't forget the siesta hours when many (most?) shops and cafes close. There's a small ferry across the Guadiana River to Villa Real de Santo Antonio, Portugal (one hour behind Spanish time) which is great for a couple of hours.

Ayamonte is a proper working Spanish town, with all facilities open even in the Winter Season. Excellent access for two local golf courses, and one ten minutes away in Portugal ( Ayamonte is much cheaper than Portugal for Golf, Petrol and much else); and access to beaches in Pain and Portugal. Easy access to Portugal by Ferry or River Bridge. Only downside is the increased volume of cars over the last 15 years, making parking in the town. Very difficult.

Ayamonte embraces a good mixture of Spanish and foreign...

Ayamonte embraces a good mixture of Spanish and foreign influences. There are very good restaurants. The beach at Isla Candela is excellent, with plenty of beach bars. The biggest problem with Ayamonte is the lack of available parking.

Ayamonte is a border town full of life. Beaches are nearby. There is a thriving fishing port and a foot passenger ferry to go to Portugal's Vila Real de San Antonio. The central plaza has a lovely vibe, with children, parents and grandparents all round.

Well appointed accommodation, we had everything we needed for our month long stay, it’s elevated position with far reaching views over the Guadiana river to Portugal was the other bonus. All amenities in the centre of Ayamonte were a short drive away or 15-20 minutes on foot (uphill on return). We’ve stayed in many properties in Ayamonte over the years but Duplex Mirador da Guadiana is one of the best in terms of location, ease of parking and location. We’re definitely returning!!
