We spent four nights at this charming little hotel in the sleepy little village of Tornos near the famous Laguna de Gallocanta. The room (superior double) was spacious, newly remodeled and very comfortable. We had a room to the back with a beautiful view of the mountains and the Castillo de Tornos. The hotel was very quiet, but I think we were the only guests there. January is a quiet month, we were told. The internet was very good. The food was delicious and considering the fact that there were no other restaurants near, we were very lucky. The breakfast (not included) was simple, no buffet. We enjoyed our stay very very much and spent a great deal of time exploring the astonishing nature of Aragon, and we visited Zaragoza and Teruel, which both are worth visiting and not too far away. All in all a wonderful stay at a recommendable and affordable place!

Typical Spanish hotel, old fashioned, which is not bad, rustic charm, bar and restaurant, plenty of parking. Travelers need to support this kind of location.

This was a night stop enroute to Portugal which didn't allow time to explore this hugely historic region.. We loved the bustle of the town which appeared void of foreign tourists and maintained a very Spanish feel, something lost in high density tourist locations. The shops provided us with a huge variety of essential supplies like traditional smoked meat and cheese. I also bought a fortified wine to sample later! The hotel does provide a special parking compound a short distance from the hotel which was really appreciated as vehicles with foreign registrations can be a target for car thieves. It was however disappointing to discover that the gate was never locked and there didn't appear to be any cameras to record unauthorised entry. Our hotel experience was not so good either due to the picture of the hotel suggesting a high mountain placement, which turned out to be street level, an off hand waiter in the restaurant and a room that wasn't one of the hundred balconies described in their advertising material. As we were leaving the following morning I didn't make an issue of these points, but felt it worth airing them here.

Daroca still maintains an oldy worldly charm, old buildings and narrow back alleys. Plenty to look at while you are wondering around, has a good sized visitor centre with very friendly and helpful staff.

Daroca is a fortified medieval town with well preserved architecture and old narrow cobbled streets and pretty squares. It is easy to get around and compact. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel and the food was good and inexpensive. An undiscovered gem of a place off the tourist trail in unexpected pretty countryside.

The Hotel Cienbalcones is a magnificent hotel set in a beautiful town of Daroca and for me an ideal stop on the way to Santander from The Costa Blanca. Cobbled streets , lots of small cafeterias to choose from . Very friendly people . Obliging with directions. And lots of historic buildings with typical Spanish architecture. Enchanting.

This is a small town with a lot of history in it's buildings It's Walls and up to the Moorish fort are so scenic and offer a lot of walking, it really is a bit lost in time. Recommend for a nights stop. If we had not stayed here we would have missed a treat - town and hotel

We were lucky to get parking directly outside the hotel and from the moment we walked into the hotel the team was friendly and pleasant. They spoke fair English, noting my very poor Spanish. Location was great with local products being sold in the butchers and groceries opposite, and next door a wonderful little tavern, and restaurant in the back. The hotel bar was excellent too and the food looked good but we didn't eat there due to our short stay. Would recommend visiting the tourist information which was informative.

The welcome was warm and efficient. We were a little surprised to be in the annexe across the road rather than the main body of the hotel but the room was absolutely fine and we had only to cross the road for a good supper! Daroca is a small town and walking to the centre takes no time at all whilst the climb up to the castle and walls was also straightforward. Excellent breakfast the following morning and all at a very reasonable price. No hesitation about recommending it.

Although Daroca is only a small place the location of the property puts you within a few minutes walk of amenities and places of interest. The apartment was scrupulously clean. I especially appreciated the lovely bathroom and fluffy towels. Parking in the plaza is literally a two minute walk to the apartment.
