Zaragoza is a city of immense historical significance right through from Roman times, Muslim times, the Peninsular Wars and on to the Spanish Civil War. The majority of sites are within walking distance from the center. I have read that its inhabitants are noted for being ' a stubborn, proud and noble people'. They should have added 'friendly and polite'. I would/should recommend this city to other travelers but the selfish part or me wants to keep this special place to myself :)

Zaragoza is a lovely place with enough sightseeing to accommodate the most avid sightseer for 2-3 days but it is also somewhere you can watch the world go by from the various squares. Great tapas too. If you are planning on sightseeing don't go in the Summer as it is too hot. Another thing to be aware of is that all the sights close for lunch shutting somewhere between 1-2pm and opening again between 4-5, so plan accordingly! Have a long lazy lunch and refuel! The tourist office will give you opening and closing times on a sheet. The tourist office in the same road as the market but down towards the river is in a tower that you can walk up to the fifth floor and get a good view for free.

Zaragoza is a wonderful city, an undiscovered gem.
Zaragoza is a wonderful city, an undiscovered gem. I have been several times before so maybe I am biased, but the history of the city is fantastic to discover, the food a delight, the small tapas places a joy to visit. A great place to socialise. It has got a little more expensive over the years but where hasn't.
Lovely, clean, spacious accommodation in a great location, especially if you're on route to the south of Spain from France or vice versa. Our large dogs were welcomed which was a plus. The host was very very friendly. Communication, directions and access to the property were very clear. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely home.
Absolutely beautiful hotel that melds historic with modern elegance. One of the loveliest hotels we stayed at in Spain. Our room opened onto the square. Fabulous location that was a short walk to everything in the old town.
Very good hotel for the price. Easy bus route into the city for an evening's exploration. Just off of the motorway - suitable for our drive across Spain. Good breakfast. Very clean and spacious rooms.
It was just off the motorway on our way through Spain which made it super easy to get to and the restaurant was open til late. The room was very spacious.
