Good location about 10 mins walk from the centre. The staff were very friendly . We had tapas in the hotel restaurant and they were very good . Most rooms have a balcony which is lovely . The rooms have good black out curtains.

The view from the terrace was absolutely beautiful. You could see the sea from all windows of the apartment. The home was cosy and perfectly clean. One more great thing was the support from the host who was always reachable and interested in our wellbeing.

I chose Laredo as my family visited there a lot when I was young. It has a fantastic sandy beach. It has restasurants and Bars, we particularly liked the Pub Graucho for cocktails and El Tunel for seafood. It was out of season (March) so many closed places but that meant the beach was almost empty apart from dog walkers and occasional surfers/paddle boarders.

Laredo has a lovely old part to the town with a huge number...

Laredo has a lovely old part to the town with a huge number of places to eat and drink. There is also a beautiful Gothic style church with a Guide who speaks English. 1,euro entry. The Comino trail runs along the coast and through the town so is easily accessible. Near to the harbour/marina is a tunnel which runs through the cliff about 200 metres. Free. There are murals on the walls of fish. A trip to Santona by boat is well worth it as it goes out across the bay to see the lighthouse and along the coast to see the old Forts. There is also an excellent natural history museum which looks at the history of the area and the wildlife. Free entry. There is also a footpath where you can walk out to the Forts and lighthouse. The Alsa coach service runs coaches all over Spain and are very reasonable, best to book online. Santander to Laredo direct took 40minutes and cost 22euros for seniors. The coaches have reclining seats, WiFi, toilets. The area is very Spanish with few people speaking English but they are extremely helpful.

I disagree with some of the negative comments about Laredo...

I disagree with some of the negative comments about Laredo on this website. If you are looking for somewhere which is very touristy and commercialised it is not for you. If, however, you are looking to get a genuine Spanish experience and mingle with the locals (a smattering of Spanish is sometimes handy) then it is a great place. The locals are very friendly and there are some lovely cafes and restaurants. A walk round the old town is very interesting, and you get a real feel for its history.

Hard to find somewhere to have dinner, pinchos on offer were limited. It feels a little jaded, took the short ferry across to Santona and it was a much more lively place, I would recommend going there.

The location is great. Not far from town or the beach. Less than 10 minutes walk. Plenty of street parking. The hotel has a reserved area. The rooms are a good size. The bath and shower worked well and the bed was very comfortable. Really quiet area for a good night's sleep. The garden is beautiful to sit in to read. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is croissants, pastries, yoghurt, and an assortment of jams and pate, etc. We can definitely recommend staying here.

Lovely apartment, spacious , light and airy, tasteful, modern with all the facilities we needed. The apartment was very clean including all the bedding, the shower was excellent and the beds were comfortable. The host, Angel, made us very welcome indeed and was generous with any assistance we needed. The property has a lovely private garden, and the parking is secure. It's a great place for a stay in Laredo; we'd recommend it and Angel.

This hotel is beautiful! Recommend to everybody. The staff here are the most friendly I have ever experienced. I turned up looking like a drowned rat after a wet Camino day. They looked after me from the first moment. The rooms are clean and very spacious. You feel like royalty at this place. Thankyou Hotel Ramona. You did more for me than you will know. Muchas Gracias!
