The suites are clean, spacious, and well-equipped, providing everything needed for a comfortable stay. They also offer secure parking for an additional cost, which is very convenient for those traveling by car. One small suggestion for winter stays would be to pre-warm the room an hour before guests arrive, as it would make the atmosphere even cozier upon arrival. Overall, the hospitality was excellent, and we highly recommend this place for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

United StatesBeautifully updated building in a great walkable location- there is a Michelin rated restaurant just a block away. The property was very clean and the updates seemed very recent. Well maintained. I will go back for sure! Occasionally could hear another group walking to their rooms (halls have wooden floors) but other than that the space was very quiet.

Situated on the north coast of Spain, the seaside city of Santander is the capital of Cantabria. This beautiful city has it all; from stunning beaches and green gardens to captivating museums and a bustling city centre.
Overlooking the lighthouse of the Mauro Island, the popular sandy beach of Sardinero is divided by the gardens of Piquio. These magnificent gardens feature Canarian palm trees, blue eucalyptus and colourful flower beds.
Located on the Magdalena Peninsula, the imposing Palacio de la Magdalena has a neoclassic French and English style. Wander around the green gardens and visit the small zoo; home to penguins, seals and other sea animals.
The Cathedral of Santander is a historic landmark in the city centre. Built between the 12th and 14th century, this historic monument consists of two Gothic churches. The Alameda de Oviedo Boulevard is a shopping paradise where you can find everything you need.
Enjoy a walk at the wide seaside promenade, where you will find a big selection of cafés and restaurants to choose from. Booking.com offers a variety of hotels, guest houses and apartments in the area. The international Santander Airport is the only one in Cantabria.

We loved Santander.
We loved Santander. We chose to fly into Santander rather than Bilbao, and we would absolutely make that choice again. It’s an elegant, very walkable city with the sea always close by and good public transportation for getting around.
We stayed for two nights, which was ideal for us: an arrival evening, a full day to explore different parts of the city, and another evening to enjoy the restaurants and atmosphere. We took taxis to and from the airport, and while in Santander we mostly walked, used the bus, and took one taxi.
It was a lovely and easy introduction to northern Spain and a city we were very glad we included in our trip.

The park in the middle of town is a vibrant area.
The park in the middle of town is a vibrant area. The Bank of Santander is a good photo op. And there's a funky lift that's part of viewing area on the waters edge. There's plenty of good value bars/cafes and patisseries to suit everyone's palate.

Beaches are fabulous and lots of them.
Beaches are fabulous and lots of them. Santander roads have no potholes , walking and cycling paths are well defined and well maintained. Didn't see any broken paving, litter or graffiti. Lots of coastal walking available and interesting places to visit. Taxis are plentiful. We didn't get time to use buses although they seemed plentiful.

Santander is a big city & sprawles over quite a big area. The bits we explored were okay but nothing special. I did book a day trio to nearby Comillas, Santillana & the Redwood forest which was amazing.

There is no way to leave it if you don’t already have a...
There is no way to leave it if you don’t already have a reservation for something. We were stuck there a second night, but the internet said there were trains, or rental cars, or airplanes— none of whch turned out to be true on a Sunday in early august. Just a head’s up.

We really enjoyed using the 24 hour ticket on the City Sightseeing tour, hop on and off. It enabled us to get an excellent overview of the location and the recorded information was interesting if not 10 years out of date. It mentioned working towards being European City of Culture 2016 🤣

Excellent price - much cheaper than the other hotels in the area. Beautiful bedroom, clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and modern bathroom. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The best bit was the location, 5 minutes slow walk to the stunning golden sandy beach and public transport. It was quiet in the hotel at night and the air-conditioning worked perfectly.
Santander is a great place to visit, so much more to do than we realised. Would highly recommend.

The way the staff treated me as customer. I felt welcome and was even offered refreshment while waiting for them to input my details at checkin. Additonally, I was assisted with parking, given a run down of the city and key places to visit and eat. I also appreciated being walked through the hotel and my room to ensure i knew where everything was.

I was a bit unsure of the hotel before booking due to the rating, but this is an amazing hotel if you accept it for what it is. The room is spacious enough for 2 people and we had a balcony with sea view. Its pet friendly and located right next to the beach in the best area of Santander and had plenty of restaurants in the area.

The hotel is located relatively close to the beautiful Mataleñas beach (about 15-20 minutes of walking). There is a bus stop next to the hotel and the bus takes you to the other beaches of Santander and also to to the center of the city.
