Beautiful location by the lake, nice restaurant / bar, clean rooms, kind and helpful owner that can speak English and helped us practice Spanish and recommend a good mechanic for our car. Great area for walking / biking.

This spa hotel has a fantastic location at the eastern end of Lake Ebro with stunning views all around. First opened in 1922, it continues to evoke the spirit of the past with its antique fixtures, fittings and furniture. Displays of photographs of the hotel in earlier times added to this atmosphere and we personally appreciated the décor and absence of computer and TV screens throughout most of the hotel (although there was a TV in the bedroom). Staff were very friendly and helpful, a number of them spoke good English and there appeared to plenty of staff to manage the needs of some large groups as well all the other guests. Our room was very spacious with wonderful views of the lake on two sides. The cafeteria is conveniently open all day and the restaurant provides a set 3 course lunch and dinner. We were impressed with our evening meal which was freshly prepared and served promptly. The spa area also was redolent of a former era with classic tiling and plumbing systems but still provided an enjoyable spa experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel for its olde worlde charm and the natural beauty of the area.

Location as easy to find, just of main road but far enough away to be quiet. Stayed as overnight stop on way to ferry but would consider longer stay in future.

Everything - on a very quiet pedestrianised street, comfortable beds, no noise from within the hotel ( but very few rooms taken), decent breakfast for the price, spacious bathroom, very helpful lady in reception, walking distance from train station.
