La Zambra is a charming hotel in a quiet neighborhood. Well appointed, airy, scrupulously clean, air conditioned. good wifi, with room size above common minimums. The 12 noon to 12 noon checkin/checkout is very generous and almost unheard of, The price of 44€ single on an early May weekend is very fair (cheaper weekdays). I've often paid more for less. The comfortable lobby has elevator access, a guest refrigerator, microwave, and 24-hour coffee/tea, but no utensils or plates. The staff is very friendly but, in my experience, apparently Spanish-speaking only. All in all, a very pleasant place to stay. Things to note: 1) Although their statement "No parking available" is true in that there is no onsite or street parking in the immediate vicinity, there is free street parking in surrounding neighborhoods. I found a spot a 7-minute walk away. 2) Reception is closed from 1300-1600 but you can check in during that period by letting them know your arrival time. In my case, this procedure failed badly but the reception clerk apologized profusely and I'm sure it was a one-time problem. A voice call to notify arrival time during siesta is better than a booking.com message, but their phone number is not (and should be!) WhatsApp accessible. 3) In my room (204), the bathtub doors, shower head mount, and tub drain all needed some maintenance but this is easily fixed and probably room-specific.

The apartment is on the 4th floor, we have good view of the little village. The parking lot is right in front of the building. There is a small grocery store just downstairs. Although it is on the 4th floor, we have a small elevator to transport our luggages. We have everything, the washing machine, dish wash machine, … available in the apartment. The host, Paco, is very warm and very helpful. Besides kitchen utensils and cooking essentials, he offered various soft drinks, milk, snack bars in the refrigerator, free of charge. The olive oil he offered in the kitchen is the best we have tasted. We asked him where to buy it, he even gave a ride to the factory where he bought his olive oil. He also recommended us to another top-rated olive oil factory in the neighborhood. We are very pleased with our stay and strongly recommend this accommodation if you visit this neighborhood.
