I was upgraded for free to the 4 star hotel just next door so I have no idea what the original booked room would have been like. Very happy with new upgrade. Clean, warm, good wifi and luxury so thank you. Easy parking

Comfortable and with real character

A genuine, family-run hotel that made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was amazing (the best scrambled eggs in Spain), fresh meats, fresh fruits and house-made cakes. Both plentiful & delicious. Walking distance to all the old city has to offer, shops, bars and restaurants. Spacious rooms with modern bathrooms. Nothing was any trouble. We would definitely return to this hotel. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Lovely old school polite professional staff

Beautiful property with some wonderful features and furnishings. Very quiet and comfortable a few steps away from the old town. Staff were fantastic. Great stay on the Camino.

Loved everything about this beautiful Posada, the decor, the atmosphere, the quirkyness, the rooms, and especially the welcome and total freedom for our dog. Definitely will be our place of choice in this area in future.

Private parking outside, very big room, comfortable big bed, big bathroom, A/C, clean, near the highway, washing machines gas station, mini market and coffee at 20m. A small pool. Automatic machines for coffee and snacks.

Pet friendly, welcoming and good value

This was our fifth stay in Santillana del Mar: it's very convenient for catching the ferry from Santander and the Carrefour in Torrelavega. The room was large, the bed was comfortable, the jacuzzi bath was very good and the breakfast was the best of any posada which we have stayed at in Spain.

The room was large with comfortable beds. The owner was very friendly and helpful. I really appreciated his tolerance of my attempts at speaking Spanish and feel more confident as a result. The breakfast was good value and there were lovely seating areas inside and out. Parking is very good at the hotel. We didn’t use the pool but it looked good. We enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend this hotel.

A truly lovely property, staying here was a joy with such an old, historic building surrounding one.

Lovely hotel and on Camino route

The staff were extraordinary from the beginning! We felt like we were home.. always asking how was our day and what did we do and also advise us where to go next. Thank you so much for everything, definitely advice anyone to stay at SALLDEMAR!

Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Excellent facilities, very centrally located.

Had a good rest here during Camino. The location is great, hosts are nice and room had everything I needed. Relaxing in a hot bath after a long day was like a cherry on top.
