Rota, on the Costa de la Luz is a great spot for a beach...

Rota, on the Costa de la Luz is a great spot for a beach holiday. Several good hotels right on beach. Town is small, but lively. Friendly folks, good tapas everywhere. Not on the beaten path, not on the Mediterranean, but a nice ferry to ride to Cadiz, short drive to Jerez de la Frontera or Sanlucar. Enjoy!

Rota is a small town and every place was in walking distance...

Rota is a small town and every place was in walking distance. If you stayed outside the town there seemed to be a very regular bus service. It was lovely to stop at the little cafes around and have a cup of coffee and a roll for breakfast at inexpensive cost. In the evening time there are lovely restaurants which ranged from tapas and a full meal whatever your wish. It is a real Spanish town on the coast with lovely groomed beaches and friendly people. It is close to other big centres like Cadiz, Jerez. Puerto de Santa María and Chipiona.

I think Rota is a cute town.

I think Rota is a cute town. There's enough to do for a getaway either as a single, or even with a partner or family. I have been to Rota three times within a single month and I would definitely go back. One of my favorite places to enjoy brunch was a restaurtant named Oklahomas. The food is so delicous. It is quite easy to get around Rota!

Despite superb sandy beaches and a nice old city centre Rota...

Despite superb sandy beaches and a nice old city centre Rota is not over-exploited as a tourist destination. It is a rather quiet town, ideal for a restful vacation, and small enough to be able to reach most places by foot. There is a catamaran service to Cadiz several times per day, weather permitting.

Rota is a proper Spanish town.

Rota is a proper Spanish town. Good choice of restaurants shops cafes tapas bars. Not for people who want fast food. Beautiful beach lovely harbour very quaint narrow streets. If you are looking for a taste of real Spain this is the place to visit.

Very large room with loads of cupboard space., loads of drawers and plenty of space to store the suitcases. Bathroom was very large, excellent design,, great shower and bath options and plenty of space for towels and toiletries . Large covered balcony with a view of the swimming pool and the sea, with table and chairs protected from sun, cold and rain. Right next to the castle and 7 minutes walk into town. I will only stay there when in Rota.

Host was very helpful. We got pdf with instructions. Apartament is localized on the border of town- in 5 minute walk range you have two exceptionally beautiful beaches. In Rota we found great Mercadona where we could shop.

Good location near sea and town centre. Comfortable bed. Nice to have a bath. We landed in Rota when there was a big street fiesta for carnival. Bonus!
