RussiaWe had a home-like experience. Isabel is literally the greatest host I’ve ever seen in decades of traveling. She made us feel like home, not just with the local recommendations, but the warmest attitude and care, lovely conversation and immediate help with whatever we needed. Apartment is cozy, very clean and comfortable for our one night stay to enjoy Setenil. Isabel kindly helped to figure out the proper parking spot on the street (the streets are quite narrow, but thanks to her we easily found enough space to safely park our SUV). The apartment overlooks the town and the view is fantastic. The night is quiet and the chirping birds in the morning were the best to wake wake up to. We stayed in May and the weather was mild, so, inside the apartment it was also comfortable without AC. We hope to come back!

The location was perfect for seeing the boulders, everything within the walkable distance. There was also a nice view from the windows. The flat was very nicely done, the bed comfortable. We had a great stay.

This our second visit to Setenil and we wanted to use it as...
This our second visit to Setenil and we wanted to use it as a base to visit other towns. Sadly, of us, there is a lot of work going on around the area in relation to the roads. We found it extremely difficult towards the Ronda area as a major road had closures. Diversions were not always obvious or easy. So a lot of what we wanted to do we avoided because of the frustration in getting from A to B easily.
Setenil itself is nice to visit but once you have done it there is very little else to do in the town. It is also very touristy and visited by many coach companies. Parking is also limited and an issue after about 11 am. We found that everything started to shut down about 6 pm.

We booked this place for one night and it was fabulous, a wonderfully designed home, with everything that we needed. I was right in the heart of the town and parking was 5 minutes away. I would stay here again anytime.

A very interesting place to visit.
A very interesting place to visit. Very busy with tourists in the day but these people disbursed at night. Moving around Setenil is a challenge, it is very hilly with lots of winding cobbled streets.
We stayed overnight but on reflection we should have just gone for the day and stayed in Ronda overnight. At 19:00 there was only one bar open to eat which we thought was odd although another couple of bars opened at 20:00. The night atmosphere wasn't as good as we experienced in the day with the sun, shops and bars all open and the hustle of people mooching about.

We were there on a very busy weekend and so we went to the neighbouring town of Olvera. We really enjoyed the town on Sunday night when the crowds left and I’m sure it can be quite lovely during the week.

An amazing little town the network of tiny paths where the houses seemingly built on each other. The buildings underneath the rocks are stunning. You only need a few hours here just meandering around the town.

Setenil is a unique place because of its cave houses, shops, bars and restaurants located under rock. Its a great place for a day trip or an overnight stay. Be sure to try to go during the main opening times of shops and restaurants between 10am and 8pm (for the majority). Recommend La Dehesa del Ibérico --delicious jamón ibérico and queso along with very good quality wine. Abacería El Rincón del Beso, a quirky upstairs terrace under the rock, also with very good quality wine. Many other restaurants to try, but I arrived at 7pm on a Tuesday in August and left at 9am on the Wednesday morning, so many were closing at 8pm and not open when I left.

The House is well kept and beautiful. We loved the balcony with its great views. From the House you can easily access the Castle, the centre of Setenil and you can also start a Hike via La Ruta de los Molinos that takes you to the next village. I recommend the following Restaurants if you have a Vegetarian in your party, La Cueva de Maria Tormento and Restaurante Vizcaino

Lovely apartment with all the amenities. The host was very responsive and helpful. Easy to check in and out. There is a small shop 1 min down the road with everything you need. Everything in Setenil can be reached by walking.

The apartment was the perfect place to stay to enjoy an evening in Setenil. The location was ideal; the apartment was comfortable, and the terrace provided a lovely vantage point from which to view the town in the evening.

The pool was amazing, the whole hotel is spotless, the food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
