The hosts were so good they are the kindest people I have ever met. Upon arrival. I was given some fresh vegetables to make salad, they bought roasted chicken for me which was so tasty, they also did my laundry for me. And the breakfast was delicious with homemade jam and everything. They also took me to the city due to my foot injury.. they are the angels. Really grateful. Definitely would go back. Forgot to mention the view around the property is spectacular. Loved it.

Very nice and helpful staff. Sorted out a small problem we had in the room straightaway and recommended good restaurants. Room was very spacious and had the extra bonus of a small kitchen with hob, microwave and fridge. Advantage of parking on site but you had to pay 12 euros a day.

They have everything you need, high-end and they just have thought of everything. It was just so fantastic. The bar was perfect, the restaurant was top notch and just all the details made you feel like you were right at home. I cannot recommend this place enough.

We absolutely LOVED this place! We were looking for a little place to getaway that was quiet. It was so great to stay here--staff were really nice and the place pleasantly surprised us! It had a beautiful view of the Basque countryside and the ocean in the distance. Absolutely stunning! We had a large balcony with 180 views. Breakfast was great--help yourself. They also had portions of fresh food that you could purchase and heat for dinner the night before, but we had plans already, but would've taken advantage of that so we wouldn't of had to leave. Normally we stay in Getaria, but we definitely loved this place--especially the view off then patio where we ate our breakfast! We will be back!!

What a find! Hotel Gaintza is a hotel and winery located in the countryside next to the Camino de Compostela northern route. Vineyards surround this beautiful establishment. One can take a tour of the winery and vineyards with wine and food tastings for a reasonable fee. It was an absolutely wonderful stay.

Charming rural hotel in the mountains, what a beautiful setting a short walk from the village. Rustic decor and very comfortable Excellent breakfast the best croissants ever and dinner very heavy on the meat huge portions but great value The hosts are so kind and helpful as hopeless Spanish speakers we communicated by phone and even learnt a few words in Basque We would definitely stay here again lost of places to visit nearby

This is a great old hotel. Large room was warm and welcoming. The restaurant gave us a fabulous 3 course meal for a reasonable price. We spent an hour in the spa. Staff were very helpful. Lovely location by the river. We drove here after a day in Bilbao and stayed for one night as we were heading to France.

We loved the hotel. We traveled on our bikes and arrived after a day of riding in the rain. The staff was kind and accommodating. The breakfast was great. We loved the spa. The surrounding town is beautiful and the cave museum is very interesting.
