United KingdomWe had such a lovely stay at Galdu Hotel. Nora and Jermu, the owners are a wonderful couple — we really enjoyed talking to them and felt so welcome.
The food in the restaurant was amazing, truly fine dining. They even lit the fire for us in the evening, which made the whole atmosphere so cosy and special. The views from our room were beautiful, the spa was great with the outdoor jacuzzi and the breakfast on our last morning was honestly one of the best we’ve ever had. We’d happily come back.

We had long sunny days but lots of snow (if mushy). The scenery is spectacular and the town is functional - not touristy or tacky. Lots of local skiers. We stayed for 6 days and did almost every activity but wished we could stay longer and enjoy more hikes

I stayed 5 nights in Saariselka and it was a magical experience, true winter wonderland. There is so much to do from husky / reindeer safaris, to skiing, to snow mobiles, to cross-country skiing, Northern Lights etc. I am from South of Finland so for me, visiting my home country, is always a joy. I love the culture, the people and the food. Saariselka was a wonderful experience and a fantastic way to explore Lapland!

Great resort place, west village right next to husky farm and horse farm. Decent planetarium also, but they need to learn a bit about running these shows :).
Do install the Aurora app if you are there for this. The Aurora alarm in rooms don't work, or atleast didn't work for me.

Saariselka is a wonderland in winter.
Saariselka is a wonderland in winter. You can easily get all the required things such as food from K-market. There are lots of activities you can do in Saariselka such as skiing, snowshoeing, Ice Karting, bowling, Aurora Hunting tours, etc. You can easily reach here from Rovaniemi City by using public bus. There is a Ski bus that runs between Saariselka village and Saarselka Ski resort. I did my beginner ski lesson here. It was great. I spent my Christmas holidays here and most things are available to do. I did my skiing on Christmas day itself.

We spent a total of 7 days in Lapland. 2 near Ivalo, 3 in Kiilopaa, 2 in Saariselka proper. As a family some liked Ivalo better, others Kiilopaa, and others Saariselka. We stayed for 7 days to maximize our chances to see the Northern Lights and were fortunate to see them for 2 nights in a row. If we weren’t concerned about seeing Northern Lights, in terms of special “Lapland specific” experiences, I would have been satisfied with maybe 2 or 3 nights (husky, reindeer, snowmobile, ice fishing). But, if you spend extra days, there’s plenty to do — ice karting, cross country ski, snow shoe-Ing, ski/snowboarding, Siida museum, etc.

Amazing resort away from the hustle and bustle and commerciality of busier Lapland resorts. Lovely nature walks, lots of family activities like husky rides, skiing, snow shoeing etc. and very cost accommodation.

We stayed in chalet number 8. The location was good, 15 min walk to Saariselka center. The walking path was very nice, we also saw Aurora. We forgot the key inside and we were locked out, they came and opened it within 10 minutes. The handbook is very explanatory, the sauna was easy to use. They let us check out for free until 12 noon. It is a quiet and peaceful place. Not as written, bed linen and towels were free. You just need to lay them yourself in whichever room you are going to sleep in.

We loved our stay in the igloos. The dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights three times during our stay — including once from inside our igloo.
The private sauna and shower were excellent, everything was very clean, and the views from the igloo were stunning both day and night. A truly once-in-a-lifetime experience in Lapland, Finland. Highly recommended and absolutely worth the money.

Our AirBNB apartment had so many problems that we couldn't even spend one night in it. Holiday Club Saariselka to the rescue! We booked online at 11.20pm, took the short walk across the town and checked in within ten mins. The staff were brilliant, understood the frustrating position we found ourselves in and went out of the way to be helpful.
The apartment was smaller than we had planned for but worked for our purposes that week.

The Sauna room, we spent time there almost everyday, free laundry, very friendly and helpful staffs around, fast respond to our message, excellent location that the bus stop is just opposite, spacious and of cause the good breakfast. We really enjoy our time in Saariselka Inn. Will recommend to all my friends and family.
