This unique boutique hotel is located just next to Esplanadi shopping street and offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. Being our first visit to Helsinki we were very happy with our experience at the f6, we found all the staff to be friendly and helpful from cleaners to reception. We would highly recommend the f6 and will stay again when we return in the future.

Situated on the historic Bulevardi avenue in trendy Punavuori, this boutique hotel is 600 metres from Kamppi Metro Station. Very clean and comfortable room, good bed, friendly service, all you need... bathrobe, hairdryer, nespresso... I didn't use the sauna, so can't tell about that.
Hotel Fabian is within 5 minutes’ walk of Helsinki’s famous Market Square and the Esplanadi shopping streets. Breakfast is simple buffet, simple but very satisfying. Room, shower very big and cosy, better than expected. Many sightseeing spots, just within 10~15 min walk. Quiet room also great for business trips.
Overlooking Helsinki Harbour, this elegant hotel is just around the corner from the Esplanadi shopping streets. The location was great for us. We could walk everywhere we needed to go. My only note was at breakfast, the tea or coffee was never hot enough, even at times when it was in the white ceramic pot with leaves. Others had the same experience. Otherwise, we would definitely stay at Hotel Haven again.
Housed in a converted prison from 1837, this atmospheric hotel is found on Katajanokka Island in central Helsinki. Great hotel! Location is close but not too close from Helsinki Centrum, and if you come via a ferry, it's literaly a couple of minutes walk! It's a former prison, as described, so the building has character, but the room was very comfortable nonetheless! There is also a restaurant in the cellar, with a good menu, and the breakfast is quite good as well! I can only highly recommend this hotel!

The nice place to spend evening with your love! Full of restaurants which costs the same price everywere (exept Micheline ones) and full of Hotels you can stay instead of going home by taxi... So 1 night in hotel costs for about the same money as taxi home from center of Helsinki. :)
Beautiful design hotel with very cool modern furniture. Our room was stunning, huge and comfortable bed. high end furnishings and bathroom and top quality bed linen and toiletries. Staff were very helpful and professional. The location of the hotel was prime, right near the main shopping precinct and walking distance to transport links. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The hotel was also close to the supermarket and bottle shop, what more could you ask for. Highly recommend the Fabian Hotel, we couldn't fault anything about our stay.
Kapelli is a great restaurant for snacks, lunch and dinner. Saaga is good if you want to sample authentic Lappish food in a cosy setting. During the Christmas period the restaurant provides an extensive Lapp buffet (other times it's a la carte). Helsinki is a city that is very 'walkable' and over 2 1/2 days we were able to take in all the sights, as well as having time for some shopping and a concert at Finlandia Hall. Enjoyed visiting the Christmas market (although don't expect a German-type market; this is a much less grand affair) and the churches and monuments. For something a bit different a walk to the former Helsinki abattoir area (Teurastamo) provides a good spot for a substantial local lunch at a very reasonable price. Recommend the audio coach tour as good way to orientate yourself upon arrival (daily trip at 11.00am). The Olympic Tower is shut for a couple of years while the stadium is renovated. For a good view across the city, go the top of the Solo Sokos Hotel Torni (note there's more than one Sokos hotel. The Torni is the one with the view (and a bar) at the top).
We went to helsinki at the start of December, the aim being a touristy 'see the sights' and relax. It's a beautifully quiet city, there didn't seem to be many people around apart from at HAM (there's a cinema complex there which was packed) and at the airport. Great city to walk around and fab if you like architecture, art nouveau, art deco and design. Food expensive if you're british, but produced to a really high standard. We stayed at the Hotel Lilla Roberts which was amazing and we thought it looked much better than the Klaus K. The breakfast included in the room rate was superb - you could properly stuff yourself with the buffet and there was something for everyone. Take a print out of the tram map with you - the names of the places are impossible to remember, although it's really easy to navigate. December is cold - you do need thick hat, gloves, thermals etc, although they did have all over the roads and pavements so we didn't feel like we were going to fall over every second! Hotel offered a discount card to sights so worth asking when you check in. We also got a 4 day tram pass (bought it at the central station for 20E, all the shops had them). This made life much easier. All museums are shut on Mondays.
Unlike many other capital cities, Helsinki is not full of tourists. One actually saw and talked to Finnish people. Most people spoke English. Everything was spotlessly clean. Sales people in the shops were engaging and friendly. Public transport was easy to understand and use. People in the Post Office were particularly helpful. A lot of variety in shopping. Stockmann is fantastic once you work out what is on which floor. Fantastic tram network Fantastic harbour market Lutheran and Orthodox cathedrals are awe-inspiring. Ferris wheel gives good views. Absolutely amazing surf shop with Secret Room underneath. Well done Markus!! Good harbour cruises. NOT SO GOOD Gypsies and others begging in the street and near the railway station. New rail line to the airport has its station too deep underground and not close enough to check-in. Hard for older people. Too many young people smoking. Hotels do not have self-service laundries. No coin Laundromats.
We loved the city of Helsinki, so many lovely places to eat, we recommend the restaurant Kappelo, if you want a special meal it Is a lovely place to eat, a bit expensive, but like I said if you want a special meal, the staff were wonderful. Recommend the tour bus, we Really enjoyed that and finding out all about Helsinki. All in all it is A lovely city to visit and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys city Breaks, weather was a bit cold but apart fro that a very enjoyable stay. Our hotel Hotel Klaus K was a very good hotel and very central for everything.

The location was great, everything was right around the corner and in walking distance. Even though the hotel is located in the city center its very quiet. We slept very well. The room was big enough for two people and clean. There was a breakfast option but we opted to buy us some bread and fruit at the nearby supermarket for breakfast instead.

It was by water, not far from the city center. It was quiet in the room, we couldn't hear anything from the neighbors. Bathroom was perfectly clean. Two king-size beds was a treat! Breakfast was good also. We were leaving the city late, so we requested late checkout and were able to stay until 6pm which was very nice of the hotel staff.
