MaltaLocation is excellent…..you never have to leave the airport building to get there. You just follow a corridor from the airport lobby. A sumptuous breakfast with everything you can think of is served at the Clarion Hotel, right next door along the same corridor.

AustriaComfortable and nicely decorated room, just like in the picture. The staff was kind and explained all the amenities: sauna, pool, gym - unfortunately I didn't have time to try that out.
The airport bus worked well, just make sure to get off at the right hotel (3rd stop of the bus from the airport).
There is a Lidl close-by, but they also offer some snack foods at the hotel. I didn't have breakfast because of my early morning flight.

We had neither the time nor the need to explore Vantaa, as our hotel served merely as a base for trips to nearby golf courses (a 45-minute drive away). We could have found accommodation closer to the courses, but proximity to the airport was the deciding factor due to our early return flight.
We noticed that most accommodation outside Helsinki falls below the quality standards we are accustomed to in other parts of Europe; many of the hotels resemble hostels.

Vantaa was a good place to stay out of Helsinki with much reasonable prices. The aviation museum is a must see and spent half a day there. The mall near the hotel was very good and spent a whole day there. We used Vantaa as a break between trips but would spend more time in future.

Our primary reason for Vantaa was our need to be at the airport very early. The public transport runs super efficiently.
We bussed into central Helsinki using 2 routes and both were excellent. Bus stops literally outside the apartment block.
The train station is a brisk 10 minute walk away and again super service for Helsinki, the airport or connections to wider Finland..
Locally there's a a couple big supermarkets too.

At this time of year, late April, some of the tourist options dont operate as you might expect aka Hop on/off bus isnt that until into May, (convenient Tourist information at Senate Square in the City Centre. )Olympic Museum may be of interest but wont take that long to look round. Seems if you want the Salmon Soup you had better think about that early on a cold day - initially looks expensive but the pictures show large chunks of fish. Lake Tuulusa can be reached by bus from Kervo rail station - had as short stay there. Harbour boat trip was chilly so went inside after halfhour.

This is close to the airport but some distance from Helsinki. So you need to decide. I was arriving at 10-30 in the evening and my onward flight was next evening. So I booked here, also because they have a free bus service from the airport. But I had a walking tour in Helsinki next morning, and taking time constraints into account I had to take an uber to Helsinki, walk for a ling time with a heavy backpack (my hand luggage), then take a train to Helsinki airport. Not the hotel's problem. Mine. But that is why, if you plan for this kind of thing, be prepared.

I needed to spend the night near the airport to catch an early morning flight. I didn't have high expectations or requirements for a place to stay. However, Comfort Hotel Xpress Helsinki Airport Terminal turned out to be a very good choice. The small but cozy hotel room contained everything I needed to get a few hours of sleep before my flight. And of course, the biggest bonus was the hotel's location. Quick, convenient and easy access to the airport.

The best price hotel near Vantaa airport if the flight leaves early in the morning. Early breakfast was already at 4 in the morning. A free shuttle bus runs from the hotel to the airport every 20 minutes. An added value was the free sauna and swimming pool.

The location within walking distance from airport and the hotel condition were excellent. Plenty of quiet space on the lobby level to do some works.
I don't have anything negative to say and highly recommend this hotel when you are visiting Helsinki.

Safe choice if you prefer to be in Vantaa or close to the airport. Jumbo shopping center is walking distance where you can find all you need. Hotel itself is super solid, all services are on good level. For the money you pay :)
