IrelandFantastic location, everywhere is very walkable. Room was large and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was also big and had a powerful shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very good value for money. I would recommend and if back in Riga will stay again.

The Art Nouveau architecture walking tour was excellent. Loved the greenery, the views, the library, the castle and all the exhibitions were fantastic and informative.
Food and drink very reasonably priced and much cheaper than London and New York.
The concerts in the cathedral were fab - loved the organ recital at lunchtime. The opera house was beautiful although we did not like the modern interpretation of Der Rosenkavalier. The explicit sex scene did not add to it - it detracted and made a lot of people leave early.

We found it easy to walk around the old part of the city,...
We found it easy to walk around the old part of the city, museums, galleries and monuments were easy to access. We really enjoyed visiting the Blackheads Museum. Good restaurants and drinking places were plentiful and there was lots of variety. Going to other parts of the city eg to see the Arts Nouveau buildings and Museum was easy as buses and trams ran frequently. The gardens and parks were lovely places to sit and relax but also to people watch!

Riga is an absolute gem.
Riga is an absolute gem. Beautiful architecture, not overcrowded or too noisy. It is charming and understated but with a real sense of pride from the locals, who are very friendly. It's also not that popular yet with the types of visitors you want to avoid. €1.50 bus ride from the airport to the centre of the old town - no need for a taxi unless you have loads of luggage. The food is wonderful. Definitely try Lido - it's a self service café-type restaurant but serves lots of traditional Latvian dishes (try the Aukstā Zupa: a bright pink cold beetroot soup - looks like Pepto-Bismol but tastes so good, and a glass of Kvass and šašliks with grey peas and bacon) and is very good value. I cannot recommend Riga highly enough and I will definitely be back soon.

The old town has many beautiful buildings, and it is lovely to see so many either having undergone renovations or in the process of being renovated rather than demolished to make way for new buildings. We found it easy to get around on foot, it was great to wander round and find something interesting to see everywhere we went. There are also numerous cafes, bars and restaurants to stop at. We had some excellent food, one of our favourite places is called ‘Black Garlic’ in English!

Old town full of interesting buildings and history but overall effect spoilt by too many bars/bars cum restaurants touting over-priced menus and poor quality so-called "craft" beer. Nothing remotely Latvian in the ambience. Old town best avoided if you want reasonable food at a reasonable price. Recommend LIDO chain for good well-priced meals and CAFFEINE coffee shop chain.

We loved this hotel. It is in a great location for visiting all the sites in the Old Town in Riga. The staff and service are fantastic could not do enough for you. We arranged for a transfer from and to the airport through reception which was great. The hotel photos do not do the hotel any justice, it makes it look dated, however the hotel is amazing! I would highly recommend

Stylish hotel inmidst the old town of Riga. Very central location with great amenities. Staff was helpful and friendly. Room was wonderful, the bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was posh - as the whole hotel. We really very much enjoyed our stay there. The Latvians are wonderful people.

The hotel is not in the center, but is only 50m (maybe even less) from the tram station which comes from the old town. So the location itself was perfect. Big bed, nice breakfast for a good price, definitely I will come back there in a second time in Riga.
