Vilnius has a very beautiful old town, with great old churches and picturesque streets. We managed to see the Saint Mary of Ostra Brama painting, but it was quite hard to reach it without a marker trader's help. The Trakai Castle located about 30 km from Vilnius is worth seeing. You can stroll along there but there is also a beautiful lake nearby, so you can rent a pedal boat or a sup board and spend time in an active way. If you are with children, I recommend going to the Vichy aquapark, which is equipped in a Polynesian style and has about 13 water slides.

Vilnius is a great place for history, nature, good food and relaxing in a safe environment. We travelled as a couple but I would recommend Vilnius to everyone it has such a cool vibe, especially in Old Town and by the river.
Every interaction we had with the locals was great, we were also lucky that the weather was good and we had the opportunity to spend a lot of time outdoors.
All the restaurants we visited were great value for money.

Beautiful city, compact and easy to get around. Friendly locals. Nice tours on offer for city and surrounding towns etc. Not expensive to eat or drink around the bars and restaurants and for a capital city it is one of the cheapest capital cities ever visited.
Close to the airport which was only 18 mins by taxi and pre booked taxi from airport (only 19 euros) however got hotel to book us a taxi to go back and this was 38 euro exactly, so double the price.

Great city if you love parks , greenery and open spaces..
Great city if you love parks , greenery and open spaces.. There are also museums, castles for those who like that. Despite peak season, we were wondering where all the people in the city are as it never seems over-crowded. Things do start late here ! 10am seems the time where activity starts and some coffee shops do not open till 10am or later. Very relaxing and people never seem to rush . Great if you want to slow down your pace in life.

I only spent two days in Vilnius, as my main goal was to see whether it could be a good destination for a future workation.
Of course, the city immediately stands out because of its beautiful historic old town, but I was even more interested in getting a feel for everyday life. Two days are not enough for that, but I still came away with a very positive impression. I especially enjoyed the contrast between the charming Old Town and the more modern areas beyond it.
Unfortunately, my visit coincided with a public holiday, so the city was quieter than usual. I think I would need to return on a regular weekday to experience its true rhythm. From what I saw, Vilnius felt young, open, and curious—an atmosphere I really liked. I can definitely imagine coming back.

Vilnius is a beautiful city, so vibrant, prosperous & drenched in a rich historical prespective embedded in ' Occupation by Russia & freedom'. Brilliant museum & art galleries to visit, for example, the Mo Art Gallery, striking building with a creative design. I would recommend the 'old town tour' with free snacks, excellent experience. Also, the Jewish Tour, a moving, powerful & inspirational. Spent some time visiting the old prison that has retained its historical features/design & is now a very creative art space.
The old town is so beautiful, amazing, such wonderful place, so safe. The river is beyond fabulous & I loved Cathedral Square & the Bell Tower. A hidden gem of a city that is outstanding.

The entire hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was still winter in the Baltics, but our stay was very pleasant; we were happy to return to the hotel after long days in the old town. The central location meant all the sights were within walking distance. The train station was also very close, which is perfect for beautiful excursions into the country. We at least made one visit to nearby Trakaj. Lithuania and Vilnius are more than worth a visit, and a stay at the Grotthus Hotel is highly recommended.

I would especially like to thank the hotel staff — true professionals who genuinely love what they do. Their communication, manners, and overall service were exceptional.
We were also kindly offered an upgraded room in honor of our special occasion, which made our stay even more memorable.
The best hotel — we will definitely return.

The room was spacious and well furnished and the reception staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. I arrived to an unusually rainy and cold summer, and the staff readily offered me an umbrella to tour the old town. The hotel is located about 800m away from the city centre which I found to be perfect as I enjoy a bit of walking, and it helps to be a small distance away from touristy activities. I highly recommend Park Hotel.

A very comfortable room for a family with children.
Hotel located perfectly for travelers who are happy to walk around the city on foot, it's very near from Old Town and also a two-minute walk from the shopping center, if you suddenly need to buy something in the store.
Personal very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is perfect, all the family members found what they like from food, even the children 😅
