Location was amazing. The restoration of the building and how elements of the old building were integrated in was beautifully done. The sauna was great. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful with impeccable English.

Vilnius is a nice city which in my opinion is safe,...

Vilnius is a nice city which in my opinion is safe, affordable and walkable. Public transport is efficient and easy to navigate. A must visit is the palace, Bernardine Garden and the Cathedral. There are many restaurants in the city centre. It is relatively calm and the temperature is cool and fresh in summer.

Vilnius is easily one of Europe's most underrated capital...

Vilnius is easily one of Europe's most underrated capital cities. It has a very cool vibe, blending the stunning historic charm of its Baroque Old Town with the fascinating, artistic atmosphere of the bohemian Užupis district.It is an exceptionally safe, peaceful, and clean city that is highly walkable and easy to navigate. There are loads of cool bars to discover, offering fantastic food and great local beer at excellent value compared to other European capitals. Plus, the younger population speaks impeccable English, so there is absolutely no language barrier. It is a perfect, crowd-free destination that I highly recommend to any traveler!

An immensely civilsed country with a rich and noble history...

An immensely civilsed country with a rich and noble history that is revealed in the architecture of Vilnius. It's a place where you can simply stroll, but there are plenty of 'sights' if you want them. There are many restaurants with a wide range of cuisine. I was nervous about trying traditional foods, but found the Italian restaurants excellent, if a little pricey.

The outer area is vast and full of shopping malls etc, and the old town area is an absolute gem of the Baltics. I am ashamed to say that having been raised in Riga, Latvia, I never really explored the old town of our sister capital - Vilnius, Lithuania, and I was stunned by it's beauty, cleanliness, people using sustainable transport (bicycles), plenty of quaint shops, bars that you want to look inside and admire the interior and concept even if you don't drink alcohol..... Restaurants with international cuisine for every taste and of course national Lithuanian focused places, a must to taste.... Wonderful churches, grand palaces and other buildings.... a river separating the city into two, with a possibility of a boat ride.... So much history and so modern, beautiful and green. I will be back soon with my family, it was only a place for us to land at their airport but it so deserves a few days as a destination.

Great destination for a cool summer getaway. A couple of days are enough to explore the city, with nice options for day trips. Many amazing restaurants, including some nice traditional ones and amazing evenings with lightened sky late into the night.

Loads of history. No surprise.

Loads of history. No surprise. Cute old town with baroque achitecture. No surprise. Great cathedral, castle and museums. No surprise. Excellent public transport. No surprise. Value for money. No surprise. Few tourists - even in high summer. Surprise. New apartment blocks, offices and shopping centres in the 'burbs. Surprise. English spoken pretty much everywhere. Surprise. It's like a bigger version of Ljubljana, but with two key differences. 1. Landscape, given that the general 'hood seems to consist of an endless flat forest rather than glorious alpine panoramas. 2. Climate. Enough said. The fact that Vilnius looks as though an economic miracle happened there in the last 20 years tells you that they are doing all they can to attract businesses. My experience is that they are also doing all they can to attract tourists. The problem is one of competition: there are a lot of other cities in Central Europe with Vilnius' strengths that are (much) better known and many of them have better transport links to the rest of the Old Continent (and elsewhere). That said, Vilnius is a city that I enjoyed. Like the rest of Central and Eastern Europe, it is very safe. Unlike a lot of places in the region, it looks safe. If you've never travelled outside your own country and/or have never been to Europe before, Vilnius is a very good place at which to start. PS If you're travelling between Vilnius and Riga, the service on LUX Express buses is excellent.

Great location! Public transport (city bus) from the airport stops very close to the hotel. Train and bus stations are short walk - 5-10min. City center, the old town and Užupis are short and beautiful walk 15-20 min away. There is a good size supermarket just accros the street. The hotel has a caffe/bar and some food options most times of the day. Gym is ok too and there seem to be laundry facilities. They will store guests' luggage for free after the check-out. Staff is professional and polite.

A satisfactory tourist-class hotel in a reasonably quiet street near the city centre. The old town is within a nice walk of 15-30 minutes, depending on your destination. The breakfast is a standard offer, nothing fancy, but satisfactory. The room was quite spacious and clean. We were lucky enough to find the parking spot in the hotel yard and it was free of charge. Couldn't ask for more fore a one-night stay.
