Boasting a stunning Baltic coastline, pint-sized Lithuania is a paradise for nature lovers. Sprinklings of small lakes, hilly uplands and luscious green forests make for a wandering wonderland. Having said that, the natural sights aren’t Lithuania’s only top draws. The spectacular Old Town of capital city Vilnius infuses architectural styles, charmingly narrow streets and over 65 churches. A stroll through the castle complex makes for a fascinating history lesson, as does the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Beachgoers should make a beeline for the seaside town of Palanga, home to a 7-km stretch of golden-red sands. Lithuania also houses a 52-km portion of the Curonian Spit, a national park featuring drifting sand dunes and pine forests inhabited by wild boar, deer and elk.
Lithuania offers a variety of urban and rural properties, ranging from Old Town hotels and apartments, to campsites and holiday homestays.
