Staff was super friendly and helpful. We had a cooler bag of food from the house where we were staying, and they stored it in their fridge for us and put our freezer packs in the freezer, which was greatly appreciated! They also gave us several recommendations for restaurants. We had a room for 3, with 2 single beds and a double. I find beds in France to be much firmer than the US, so in case travelers prefer a softer bed, be aware of this. This was about 15-20 minutes from Carnac, so convenient for the visit.

The location is perfect. It is in a centre but it is very quiet. there is a local market in front of the hotel on Friday. It is nice distance to walk to Saint Goustant. The room is cozy and clean? There is everything we need near by. The coffee shop down stair is lovely as well. Good atmosphere.

Old town, interesting shops in lovely streets and very attractive buildings, beware if you are not fit as there steep hills. Still, if you walk down the harbour there is a "train" , which takes you around the port, and up to the town, and you can leave the train there. Plenty of restaurants by the port and the town. All very pleasant

Auray is a pretty little town and it has a wonderful market...

Auray is a pretty little town and it has a wonderful market on Mondays. One of the best French markets we have been to. There is plenty to explore in the Morbihan (we used the trains a lot as well as our car) We recommend two sights in particular: 1. the megalith stones at Carnac 2. Going inside the submarine at L'Orient

I have to admit that I didn't see a great deal of Auray...

I have to admit that I didn't see a great deal of Auray itself and focused on the Port area.I was fascinated to learn that I was standing on the quayside where Benjamin Franklin landed after the American Revolution in 1776 and there are references to this in various places around the St Goustan Port.The steep and narrow streets may not be ideal territory for those with limited mobility but they are incredibly scenic and worth the effort.On the other side of the coin,the restaurants around the port certainly use the quality of the location to boost their prices a bit. The limited time I spent in the other areas of Auray indicated that it isn't hugely different to most other French towns of similar size.

Auray Saint Goustan was a truly magical, ancient, small...

Auray Saint Goustan was a truly magical, ancient, small Breton town situated beside the water. Eating a delicious dinner overlooking the colourful vintage fishing boats and the old stone bridge in the setting sun was an image I want to lock in my memory box forever. The huge and rambling Auray market day on a Monday morning is definite must for a market lover!

Hotel comfortable and clean. Beautiful gardens to the rear. Accessible to clientele Staff friendly and helpful. Room good , reasonable choice for breakfast (not included in cost) Location of hotel within easy walking distance of the centre of Auray and its attractions. Easy driving distance to other attractions in the area. A lovely 7 night stay.

Second stay in this hotel, again excellent. Attentive, efficient staff, very good room, large and comfortable. Bathroom with shower of quality. Breakfast buffet very varied, many savoury and sweet choices. Easy parking.
