The hotel is old and basic but good value for a couple of days. It is close, within walking distance, to the downtown core and across from a supermarket open until late. The location is excellent since it is a small quiet town with frequent, inexpensive train & bus services operating in both directions along the coast. This enabled us to visit Nice (very busy) and other towns such as Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Antibes and Juan-les-Pins as well as the hill-top village of Eze. We used a taxi (very expensive) to get from the airport to Beaulieu-sur-Mer but it is possible to reach the town by train albeit both trains & buses are very busy. However, travelling away from the coast is problematic and so we had to use a taxi from Nice to visit a vineyard in the Var valley. There is also an excellent public boat service at Villefranche-sur-Mer that goes along the coast to Monaco.

Beaulieu is at the exact centre of the "French Riviera" .

Beaulieu is at the exact centre of the "French Riviera" . It is flat and with a very good Bus and train service. We lived and worked nearb, and return regularly to see friends, Unfortunatly our normal choice of apartment was not available, but we knew of Les Oliviers, but not this disgusting apartment on the second floor.

You must understand first that my wife and I are retired.

You must understand first that my wife and I are retired. So we are looking for rest, relaxation, mental stimulation, sun, interesting things to see and do, good food, but on a limited budget. We enjoy Beaulieu because much of what we are seeking while on holiday is available within walking distance in Beaulieu. And the train service along the coast as far as Italy going east and beyond Cannes heading west provides easy accessibility to a wide variety of additional options when one tires of the beach and local amenities and wishes to stretch our physical and mental experiences a little further. For us, Beaulieu offers the ideal holiday location, a sophisticated French atmosphere, in a laid back casual untrendy town (or village?), where time seems slower, the sun seems warmer, the sea seems more inviting and the local food (and wine) stimulate our slightly jaded palates. No wonder we return!

It's pretty, clean and safe and was easy to get to from the train station in Nice via Taxi. Our hotel was so wonderful (La Reserve) we spent most of our time at the heated pool and restaurants there at our hotel.

A good place for exploring along the length of the coast using excellent public transport - trains and busses. There is not need to have a car. It is possible to visit from Vingtimillie, Menton, Monaco then to St. Jean Cap Ferrat, Villefranche, Nice as far as Cannes all within no more than an hour.

Stayed (again) in one of the Residence apartments over Christmas 21/22 for two weeks, very pleased, great apartment that is well appointed, very comfortable, dog friendly, neat and functional kitchen, nice bathroom, daily cleaning, the addition of a TV in the bedroom was a nice upgrade, and of course BSM is a great destination close to many local restaurants, bars, shops and two beeches. Unfortunately, the Hotel itself was closed over Christmas (Covid) but the service level was still optimum, first class staff, highly recommended.

Room was smaller than thought, only one plug socket in room which was certainly not adequate for our needs as there needs to be at least two. Would like the room to be equipped with Tea/Coffee making facility, but did ask staff for kettle etc which was suppled to us. Excellent Location of Hotel as close to cafe's, restaurants, supermarket, train station and the Port.
