The location is excellent since it is a small quiet town with frequent, inexpensive train & bus services operating in both directions along the coast.
This enabled us to visit Nice (very busy) and other towns such as Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Antibes and Juan-les-Pins as well as the hill-top village of Eze.
We used a taxi (very expensive) to get from the airport to Beaulieu-sur-Mer but it is possible to reach the town by train albeit both trains & buses are very busy.
However, travelling away from the coast is problematic and so we had to use a taxi from Nice to visit a vineyard in the Var valley.
There is also an excellent public boat service at Villefranche-sur-Mer that goes along the coast to Monaco.

Beaulieu is at the exact centre of the "French Riviera" .
Beaulieu is at the exact centre of the "French Riviera" . It is flat and with a very good Bus and train service. We lived and worked nearb, and return regularly to see friends, Unfortunatly our normal choice of apartment was not available, but we knew of Les Oliviers, but not this disgusting apartment on the second floor.

You must understand first that my wife and I are retired.
You must understand first that my wife and I are retired. So we are looking for rest, relaxation, mental stimulation, sun, interesting things to see and do, good food, but on a limited budget.
We enjoy Beaulieu because much of what we are seeking while on holiday is available within walking distance in Beaulieu.
And the train service along the coast as far as Italy going east and beyond Cannes heading west provides easy accessibility to a wide variety of additional options when one tires of the beach and local amenities and wishes to stretch our physical and mental experiences a little further. For us, Beaulieu offers the ideal holiday location, a sophisticated French atmosphere, in a laid back casual untrendy town (or village?), where time seems slower, the sun seems warmer, the sea seems more inviting and the local food (and wine) stimulate our slightly jaded palates. No wonder we return!

It's pretty, clean and safe and was easy to get to from the train station in Nice via Taxi. Our hotel was so wonderful (La Reserve) we spent most of our time at the heated pool and restaurants there at our hotel.

I needed to work, so they let me stay extra time in the room and offered me to use their desk at the ground floor anytime afterwards. They also called me in the evening, to ensure i have the code to enter the hotel no matter when i arrived - which came handy as Ive arrived pas midnight. The breakfast was very nice in a causy little room. The staff was extremely friendly all the time. Very happy with the hotel, would happily use again!
Beaulieu is one of our favourite places with good restaurants and very clean - litter on the coastline is almost impossible to find. The apartment is clean and being modern is much as it was 2 years ago when we last came. It is generally a very good apartment and if needed the La Reserve staff are available to sort out any problems.
The room was large and spacious and a nice shower room, the position of the hotel was absolutely perfect for what I wanted. The owner was a real pleasure to meet and she was very efficient.
