Great location in the centre of beautiful Beaune - cobblestone streets, historical buildings, shops & cafes, beautiful gardens & parks, churches, including the beautiful - no car needed. Heaps of walking historical & wine tours to enjoy both in Beaune and in the surrounding countryside. Easy to reach by train - a short flat 10min walk from the station. The hotel itself is a beautifully & immaculately refurbished historical building - cosy, authentic French style with all modern amenities, including a great onsite restaurant & bar. So much nicer that a large impersonal concrete 5 star high-rise! My room was spacious, comfortable & immaculately cleaned & stocked with everything daily. My little terrace was nice to unwind outdoors for the evenings. Staff were outstanding - from front of house, dining, the American Bar & room cleaning staff, all were very engaging & friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Travelling alone, it was lovely to have someone to chat to & share stories with. I would highly recommend L'Hotel, particularly for solo travellers.

The hotel is very well maintained and well equipped, they provided hairdryers, enough towels for shower and spa as well as sleepers incase there was a need. The room had coffee machine and two bottle of water in the mini fridge. The TV was very big, there was a nice chair in the room. The bed was comfortable and had different pillows. The swimming pool was a decent size and the sauna even though it was small but very very good. They had a bar that was open until 2am by the reception and a coffee machine incase anyone wanted in the lobby. The decor was very good and there was also a good mirror in the room. My room had a window and it would open and there was a heating system that I could use based on my preference. Over all the cleaning of the hotel was great The hotel has its own parking that is free of charge and secure.

Historical Home of Burgundy Wine

Located in historic Burgundy, the fortressed city of Beaune has many fortifications and landmarks remaining from its past, such as the medieval Hospices Civils de Beaune and its magnificent old city.

A very pretty historic town.

A very pretty historic town. Good place to wander, stop at the many excellent cafes, bars, restaurants. Great location to take wine tours around the vicinity of the town. A must visit is to the Beaune Hospice. We found the Ramparts a little confusing to walk.. we were expecting a fortification wall to walk upon..but instead we walked on the outer perimeter along public paths. Still a pretty walk. The evening light shows were excellent, illuminating 8 of the many beautiful buildings.

This town was so lovely.

This town was so lovely. If you love wine, you will love your stay. Vineyards are far as the eye could see. Beautiful. The city was full of restaurants and shops with wine and cheese and other delicacies. Lots of shopping and a wonderful walking town. We were there for their farmers market which was fantastic. I hope to visit again.

We arrived by train very late and our neighbours welcomed us. We were invited to a degustation dinner one evening which was fabulous. Lots of great restaurants and bars. Recommend Harry’s for breakfast. Recommend La Ligme, La Belena

On arrival the staff were excellent.

On arrival the staff were excellent. However, despite checking twice that my car would be ready at 06:45 the following morning, when I came down to the lobby the person working knew nothing about it and did not know where my key was. We check their key shelves and it was not there. We had to depart at 07:00 because I had a 6 hour drive to Calais. They eventually found the key and gave it to me at 07:25 claiming it had been put in room 101's shelf rather than my room 108. I know this is not true because we had checked the shelves. They did not charge for the garage or the previous nights dinner, which was average to say the least and most disappointing considering the reputation of the hotel. We will not be returning.

Good location in a very attractve town. Easy to walk around. Hotel comfortable and reception staff efficient and friendly. Large car park but access is via a tight turn off and narrow 'alley'. However the surrounding roads are quiet so not stressful.

The Wine Growing Museum is a first class tourism activity.

The Wine Growing Museum is a first class tourism activity. It takes about an hour and a half and covers the regional history of wine growing from geology to wine tasting. Be sure to take the elevator to the roof where you can see the 360-degree panorama of regional vineyards. There is a nice restaurant if you finish up around lunchtime.

There are two hotels b & b at Beaune. We arrived early. At beaube 2 Hôtel was not open and it was difficult to check in to get the door open. It was very frustrating that it was not open and no reception until later on. It was expensive for what it was and I don’t think I would come again. My husband likes a beer and there was no bar. Not sure as Beaune 1 had a bar but if they did it would be good to let customers know. As it was we had to go to the Ibis for an alcoholic drink.

Stunning room with the comfiest bed we’ve had on our tour of France so far, and an amazing bathroom. Beautifully accessorised. Mini fridge, ironing board and iron in our room. Excellent location on a quiet street but just minutes walk from lovely bars, restaurants and shops. Don’t miss a visit to the medieval hospital. Would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel with a trendy atmosphere. Location is awesome if you want to visit Beaune. Room is a bit small and outdated. Private parking nice while traveling: The staff was very nice and we have added this ibis on our favorite list when traveling the Route du Soleil.
