United KingdomWe have been touring by bicycle the flanders area and had the pleasure of staying here. It is quite simply superb. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and building itself has been beautifully restored, and rightly has 'historic' status. Bedrooms were large roomy and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant. Probably the best meal of our trip - French cuisine at its best ! and a meal I will remember. Thank you to the staff for making our stay so pleasant.

Some amazing architecture that we would have loved to...
Some amazing architecture that we would have loved to explore more. We would also have loved to have learned more about the history of the town. Some excellent restaurants. We ate in L'Annexe in the main square with a view of the Beffroi and the food was delicious, service excellent, and very good value.

We stayed 4 nights for Tour de France opening weekend.
We stayed 4 nights for Tour de France opening weekend. We were very surprised how much there was to see in the town, with a lovely old town square, and a moving first world 1 cemetery. The tourist office is in a lovely art deco building, and they provided a very useful English language map for a town centre walk. There were a number of bars and restaurants. A local specialty is the "Welsh" which is a supercharged welsh rarebit with lots of cheese, salad and chips. The focus was mainly on beer, with some wine in the bars. The best restaurant we visited by far was L'O a la Bouche. We had an amazing 5 course set lunch on Sunday. Also the local swimming pool (Centre aquatique de Bethune) was amazing, with an attached spa, where we had a wonderful massage.

Fabulous town square with beautiful belfry. Lots of restaurants. Lots of locals sitting outside at bars in early evening enjoying evening sun and view over square (2 large 'pression' beers here cost €18 March 2025). We are addicted to the pizza at Oh Sapristi... :)

A pleasant northern town in France with interesting architecture and lots of Western Front WWI history surrounding it. Some good brasseries and in-expensive restaurants in the centre. A friendly and pleasant town for a few days stay.

Bethune is a nice but small place - it has a central square...
Bethune is a nice but small place - it has a central square with a number of bars and restaurants and at the weekend it is pretty lively. Not a lot to see but fine for a couple of days and for use as a base to explore wider area.

We stayed a the hotel Eden while in Bethune as a base while traveling for the RWC which was in Lille, what a result this hotel was a gem of a find the staff were just fantastic and could not have been more helpful.
Its spotless for a budget hotel and in the most perfect position there is parking next to the hotel but has restrictions during the day of just 2 hours its free after 6pm which could have been a problem but the owner explained and directed us to a secure underground car park under the town square 3 mins walk away. we found a classic French restaurant on the corner of the square it was fantastic the staff where very helpful and explained the menu to us.

The Hotel was a mixture, overall the place looked like it was going to be knocked down, then they changed there minds and it is waiting for major refurbishment, Breakfast was pretty awful although I did manage something to eat. The bar was modern the food was awful, dried out lasagne. The rooms are very dark and I had to ask to have lights put on in the breakfast room, There was only 2 rooms booked for breakfast other than that it was deserted. There was only ever one person on duty but the bed was warm and comfy and the shower very good.

This hotel is comfortable and very pleasantly situated on the main square in Bethune. The staff are super nice, friendly and helpful. Initial anxieties about the loud bells from the bell tower spoiling our sleep were allayed when we realised they do not chime in the night or early in the morning. There is a good restaurant downstairs with once again lovely helpful staff. We didn’t stay for Breakfast as we were en route to the tunnel which is just over an hour’s drive.

A quiet hotel, just off the main, beautiful square in Bethune. The room was clean. Arriving on a Sunday, parking outside the hotel was free. There were no staff so we were given a code to enter the hotel and key was left on reception for us so an easy check in. Having travelled up through France staying in other town centres, I think this hotel is good value and provides a 54 minute journey onto Calais.

Location was very good, the rooms were very comfortable with convenient amenities for this day and age - including built in wireless charging base.
The hotel was clean and very modern, the beds were comfortable, shower was spacious and good, and the breakfast very good for variety, quantity and quality.

The property had a lovely, welcoming feeling and the staff were really lovely and friendly. They even had a friendly cat who welcomed us to the hotel, making it feel like a home from home! The hotel felt quite spacious and comfortable.
