Aubigny-sur-Nere is a very attractive and historic town and La Chaumiere is in the middle of it. We loved the building which is old and beautiful and has been wonderfully restored with every comfort. We booked an evening meal for convenience which turned out to be exceptionally good - really fine dining - but for a fraction of the price you pay in the UK for this quality of food and wine. The service was also great - both friendly and efficient.

Friendly welcome and very good dinner with just the right recommendations for local wine to accompany the courses. Comfortable bed and slept well. I didn't have enough time for breakfast but the set tables looked inviting.

Location: across a very good Chinese restaurant and 3 minutes walking from other restaurants and the center of town. Host: we made a reservation on a Sunday afternoon for an arrival later that day. The host took care of everything although he lives 20 km away. The place is nicely renovated, light and clean with lots of appliances. It was at time of booking the lowest price in town but the best place we stayed during our 14 day bike trip.

What a stunning place! Out of the way, gated (perfect as bikers, we felt our bikes were very safe here). The lovely host Christophe met us as we arrived and showed us around and told us how the facitllities work. There was a nice little kitchen so we were able to make ourselves some food when we arrived and we're able to sit outside to eat. After food the boys played some pool whilst we played some must from the Bluetooth soundbar The beds were very comfy and the electric blinds provided perfect pitch black for a great nights sleep👌 Each of the 3 double bedrooms has its own lock so great for a group or 3 couples. The shower has great pressure, a fixed rain shower head and a handheld head also. The corner bath looked very inviting but unfortunately our stay was too short to make use of it I would reccomend this place without a single hesitation (and already have on my own social media account) Thankyou Christophe and all involved in this accomodation, you have done a fantastic job. I really hope we will be back in the future 🙏

Spacious house that has been renovated recently and let with attention to detail. Good kitchen, lounge, bathroom and bedroom. Fell asleep watching the large TV 😊 Able to park just outside, in a peaceful setting with pleasant neighbours. Excellent value for money, and the village would be charming in summer, set beside the river.
