What a lovely hotel in Azay. Exceeded all our expectations. The staff, especially Tom, were really friendly and helpful. Went out of their way to help us with everything, including helping us with our bikes. Our room was perfect. Lovely and bright with a very comfortable bed. What was even better was the ice cream shop right opposite. Delicious. Would highly recommend if you want to explore the beautiful Chateaux and area. To stay here is a treat.

perfect location , quite and peaceful , very close to Sancerre centre only 5 km drive trough a beautifully vineyard roads , very clean with high end amenities , fresh food , great wine selection the garden is beautifully arranged with flowers and little islands pot of herbs there is a sun-bed to chill in the shade in the afternoon, dinners tables in the garden are lit up in the evening with a candles just perfect evening in the nature ,the host took such a great care of us preparing breakfast every morning and give us water and snack for the road when we left , what a pleasure and great experience with have , highly recommended for a relaxing stay with a very warm welcome from Gusto the dog

We had a lovely stay at Les Hayes en Sologne. The hotel is beautifully renovated and surrounded by peaceful nature. The interior is elegant and cozy, and the staff were warm and attentive. We also really enjoyed the restaurant - the food was excellent, and our waiter was especially kind and professional. A perfect spot to relax and unwind.

Beautiful chateau that is very tastefully presented. The evening dinner restaurant is exceptional. Excellent food and excellent value. I believe it's listed as a Michelin Restaurant Bib Gourmand. We only stayed 1 night and took the dolomite cave suite. Again beautifully presented with a wonderful private giant bathtub jacuzzi. It's quite an experience though, as you are sleeping in a cave! The children loved it. Pet friendly too.

Beautiful hotel and grounds. A fantastic restaurant which is worth the visit just on its own. However, it is the staff and their ability to make you feel so welcome from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave, their seamless service and their smiles which really made this a great stay. Plus, importantly for us, our dog was made to feel as welcome as we were.

We arrived later than anticipated so unable to go into the city however we have been before so not too worried. Good for a walk along the Loire. Old town nice and good shopping. Not far from Usse chateau (sleeping Beauty inspiration) and Azay Le Rideau our favourite. Onward then to the Dordogne.

Cathedral is definitely worth a visit.

Cathedral is definitely worth a visit. Take the little train that travels around the city to see many old buildings. Good restaurants by the Cathedral. Also down one of the streets a great Italian restaurant.

Orléans is a lovely city which we enjoyed immensely.

Orléans is a lovely city which we enjoyed immensely. We made good use of the trams to get arround the city and trains to visit neighbouring towns such as Blois and Tours. We were there when the May 8th festival commemorating both the ending of the siege of Orléans in 1429 and the ending of WW2 in Europe. The procession was wonderful. The local people were very friendly and we enjoyed our stay. Finally we don't drive in Europe and if we did the two week stay would have been even more enjoyable.

Make sure to spend a day biking (we used Loire Bikes) in the Loire. We e-biked to Chateau de Chenononceau which was the highlight of our trip! Stunning scenery along the river, gorgeous weather, unbelievable photos! We had a fantastic dinner at Restaurant Les Arpents and at several other restaurants in town. We enjoyed our tour of Leonardo da Vinci's Chateau du Clos Luce which was easily walkable from our hotel. We highly recommend staying in Amboise - our 4 days were perfect!

We couldn't visit anywhere - since appartment was appalling. Previous visits have been wonderful. Chateau exceelent and magic house great. Ride through the town very interesting. Would recommend a visit - but make sure of your accommodation beforehand.

We only stayed for one night.

We only stayed for one night. The town is very beautiful and wasn't very busy. Lots of places to eat, beautiful shops and the streets of the old town, were very quiet, clean and rustic. There is a magnificent cathedral in the town, worth visiting. It seemed like there was a lot more to see. We would love to visit again.

Saint Aignan is a quaint town on the river Cher.

Saint Aignan is a quaint town on the river Cher. There are lots of restaurants , shops in the town and a few bars. You need a car to get around . You can drive to places like Blois ,Tours & Montrichard for days out and visit many of the areas Chateaus. Free parking is available in all of the towns. Just put " free parking" into your google maps before you enter the town centre. Chateau Chenonceau is a must see and in my opinion the best in the area. It is worth paying the extra euros for the Chateau Chenonceau audio tour as it provides a room by room (there are 19 in total) tour ,great narration and additional, interesting information that isn't available in the free map/ brochure . In Saint Aignan ,we ate at Hestia, Venchi, Trois Chemins & La Relais. All good value and good food.

A fantastic little hotel where the staff smile and are accommodating, free parking available, is in a great location, amazing breakfast buffet, very clean rooms with comfortable beds, plenty of lighting and the bathroom has great water pressure and hot water plus the shower is a very good size. We would be happy to return to this hotel!

Taking the lift (or walking) up to the fortress and wandering around the medieval streets, strolling along the river by the beautiful plane trees. There are several lovely restaurants and of course local vineyards and wineries must be visited, as well as nearby chateaux and sites (such as Fontevraud Abbey, Ussé, and Azay-le-Rideau).

Unfortunately we turned up Early evening on Sunday, every thing in france is pretty much shut There is a “Buffalo Grill “ very near the property, but on previous occasions visiting this restaurant chain . we have received a shocking service and substandard food. So we would never go to Buffalo Grill again.
