FAQs about hotels in Bordeaux

A Taste to Suit Everyone’s Palette

Raise your wine glass and toast to the beautiful city of Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne River. Having produced wine since the 8th century, it’s fair to say the second largest wine producer in the world is worth the trip for the vin alone. The city itself has spread outwards, rather than upwards, and the result is a very pretty town centre, filled with stone mansions and terraced housing comparable to Paris.

Cultured Bordeaux is filled with museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art and Musee D'Aquitaine. The streets provide an equally interesting exhibition of fine architecture including the Victory Arch and the Aquitaine Bridge.

On the shores of the river lies the Les Chartrons district, which is a blend of ferry boat rides, picturesque views and buzzing nightlife while the pubs and cafes in the La Victoire district are frequented by students.

A tour of the famous vineyards is probably on the itinerary and this can be accomplished by visiting the wineries and châteaux privately or as part of a tour. You can also worship the wine gods at the Bordeaux Wine Festival held during the summer.

Visitors can easily make the short trip to the heart of Bordeaux from the Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport. With 70 hotels and bed & breakfasts available, Booking.com allows you to discover the vibrant and friendly heart of the vineyard region.

Beautiful old buildings everywhere as well as some fantastic new buildings and experiences. If you like wine you will love Bordeaux even more. Did a and easy say trip on the train to Arcachon and Cap Ferret and a full day wine tour. So many things to see and do next time even though I was there for a week. I reccomemd getting the Bordeaux visitor pass which is great value and includes free access to the easy tram and ferry system as well as some major attractions including Cit du Vin which is a must do.

All the old doors are beautiful in Bordeaux and so many streets are only for then pedestrians. My daughter was very satisfied as well. We walked around 14 km only in the old town, from the water mirror ro the Chartron part and we visited the most places as well. In the hotel we found a mal of the town and we defined our way in the old town.

Bordeaux is a very beautiful city with lots to see and do. Anyone who likes art, architecture, culture, wine, shopping will be happy. We stayed for 5 days which was perfect for us, gave us time to relax as well as seeing the sights. It’s very walkable, everywhere very flat. Highly recommend the Citypass, which you can buy from the Tourist Information centre, gives you access to many attractions and transport is included. The tram system makes it very easy to travel all over the city. Bassin de Lumieres is a must!

we ate at food hall Bacalan this had a large variety to choose from and is close to cite du vin but there is certainly plenty to choose from in city too. Airport is pretty terrible so don't go expecting to be able to eat tea there, as through security there is small shop and café. Otherwise transport links in city are really good. Particular sites I enjoyed. Exploring coffee shops around the city (books & coffee is good), Jardin Public is lovely place to visit, also spent a lot of time on rue de saint Catherine. If you have time, A small 1hr trip over to Arcachon and dune du pilat is definitely worth the trip. Easily accessible by both train and bus.

Great location, walking distance to every part of city centre. Very comfortable accommodation - one bed apartment. Kitchen very useful for breakfast and supermarket nearby. Apartment was on 5th floor, no noise and we slept very well, staff are very kind and helpful. Decor perhaps is a little bland in apartment but otherwise it was perfect. I would strongly recommend this aparthotel as an ideal base in beautiful Bordeaux.

Clean and quiet this hotel is a stones throw from Bordeaux which is in easy walking distance or, if you prefer, the tram runs close by. Facilities are fairly basic, and the property is authentically French. Our room was clean and tidy and the staff very friendly and helpful.
