Located one mile from Cauterets resort, Lagrange Vacances Le Domaine des 100 Lacs is just 1640 feet from the Lys cable car. Chambres d'Hôtes La Balaguère is located in the Pyrenees National Park, 0.8 mi from the spa centers in Cauterets. I liked the location of the Inn a little outside of the town. The bedroom was a nice size and very comfortable. The bathroom was large and everything was very clean. The view from our bedroom was especially pretty and the breakfast was excellent.

Great place for a family. Skiing was very good for the children and lots of things to do. Some great restaurants and a very quiet place. Have been many times both in summer for walking and winter for skiing.
Cauterets has something for everyone, be that snow sports, walking, or taking in a meal or drink in the restaurants and bars. It is a small spa town with a traditional feel and largely unspoilt It is the sort of place that you would revisit and never become tired of
Quaint village with a relaxed, calm feel about it. It is located very close to Pont d'Espagne and Gavarnie which are two of the best places in the Pyrenees to hike. Cauterets is well equipped for visitors with parking areas around the village. It is quite quiet in the evenings despite being a pretty popular area with hikers. If it is partying you are looking for, it probably is not the best place for you. If you want a quiet, relaxing picturesque French mountain village from which to do a few days of excellent hiking, then Cauterets is the perfect place for you. There are a number of restaurants but not too many so I would choose a hotel that offers meals in house.
Friendly and helpful residents at GARE, at the hotel, in shops. Beautiful village which blends in well with the spectacular Pyrenees. Good food is available amongst the many restaurants. Transportation to/from GARE is sketchy; need a bus or car that can take you from GARE to your hotel site when the luggage can’t be carried. As a solo traveler you can do anything you would like to do while in Cauterets and it’s stunning mountains. Great hiking with options to go higher on the lifts to the lakes, valleys, refuges.
Cauterets is a Victorian town which offers thermal treatments and access to ski slope. Godd position for exploring the adjacent scenic area. Most facilities available, good choice of cafes, bars and restaurants. Two convenience stores in the town, another suermarket on the edge of town. Easy access to the ski lifts.
It is a great location for access to walks in the mountains at all levels of ability. The town has beautiful views and there is a lovely bar in the centre to enjoy an evening drink and watch the world go by. We also went to the spa twice - think it was called Les Rochers , which was great with a heated outdoor pool , indoor pool , sauna and steam room .We have stayed here 4 times now and still find new walks. This year we went up Petite Vignemale which was a difficult , long walk but spectacular.
Charming, individual hotel with good access to walks in the Marcadau valley and elsewhere with the bonus of being slap bang in the middle of Cauterets with cafes and restaurants. Room 302 is a gem with dual aspect windows and views over the rooftops of the town towards the mountains (with small balconies to step out on to to get the air). Breakfast good as well. Highly recommend for a short break in the Pyrenees.
Cauterets
The location was fantastic close to all attractions in the area. The hosts were extremely helpful and treated us like family. Food was excellent and it was lovely tasting the specialities of the region. The property is beautiful and our room was spacious clean and comfortable with fantastic views . We recommend and hope to go back ❤️
The management was very flexible and allowed us to check in earlier. The location is fantastic, next to river and with nice view of the town, yet also within walking distance of the town. The apartment is very complete with regards to facilities. There is no airco but even then the temperature was fine during heatwave.
- The apartment was big enough for us (four adults and two kids) and the location was good. - in the end there were not many people so they allowed us to park both cars in the parking, which was very nice
