We stayed at the hotel with our baby daughter while my husband was competing in a mountain bike race nearby. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and accommodating. We arrived late after a long drive and they ensured that we could still check in, the staff were so lovely and helpful with our daughter and went above and beyond. Breakfasts and dinners were excellent, plus the setting is stunning.

Beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. We only did an overnight but would highly recommend to anyone staying longer too. It has everything that you need. Very tastefully decorated.

Excellent dinner, starter, main, cheese and dessert, really good food. Breakfast also good. Room was very clean, very good shower and the radiator in the bathroom was handy for drying clothes. The owner was personable. Slightly scruffy exterior, maybe due to lack of rain??

I have never written a bad review for anyone but this was awful. The stairs are so dangerous. We booked for a week and stayed one night. They would not refund our money! They are steep and open. To get up we had to go on our hands and knees. The owner knew my friend had dementia but did not tell us it wasn't suitable for older people. We weren't able to get our bags upstairs because they were not safe enough. It was freezing cold when we arrived and no one showed us how to warm it. The place is very tatty and dated. There were thick lumps of dust behind bed and I coughed and sneezed the night away. The bunk beds are in a hallway and there's no way I would let my grandchildren use them. Everything looks like it belongs in Victorian times. It's definitely not charming. More like something from The Shining! It's one saving grace is the setting. Which is absolutely beautiful. We did try and find the hosts in the morning but no one to be found. So we just left.
