Fantastic location in a beautiful town.. stopped here en-route to Spain, and in doing so stumbled across a real hidden gem.. staff fantastic including a secure indoor garage to park car with belongings in.. the town is amazing and great for an evening walk and a visit to the bars and restaurants.. amazing hotel can’t recommend enough

This counts as one of the nicest stays we have ever had to be sure. Home made jams and yoghurt a superbly comfortable bed great shower, embroidered towels and a hostess who was so so lovely! Restaurants just round the corner and if the weather was nicer which it wasnt a pool too!!

Everything! The beautiful owners restored this old mill house to perfection. My dog was very welcomed and had a very happy stay. The little farm animals are fenced off, so if not to disturb the guests and gardens. The breakfast was delicious with their homemade yoghurt.

A beautiful stay, with every detail obviously carefully considered, this place will have you wishing you could stay for longer! Olivier and Ingrid were glorious, extremely welcoming and with a wealth of knowledge. Breakfast and the spa were perfect and on top of that the village is just a short walk away and definitely worth a visit.

Perfect for couples and families with older children.

Perfect for couples and families with older children. House and rooms was beautifully furnished.. More like an Art gallery than a house. Gardens with the lake and wildlife were lovely, but the garden fronting the house had a water course running through that wasnt lit at night. Easy to slip into it. Short walk into Pons, Pons was lovely.

We chose to stop here when driving from Cherbourg to...

We chose to stop here when driving from Cherbourg to southern Spain, plumping for Pons simply because it was en route. The tiny village turns out to be awash with ancient buildings, including the pilgrims’ hospital, a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Everything is within easy walking distance. It’s worth paying the few euros entrance fee to climb up the donjon tower - all that’s left of the once-massive ancient castle - for great views over the countryside. You can use the 17th century grand staircase to get down to the river where there are picnic tables and shady walks along the banks. The best restaurant in town, according to our hosts, is the one in the Hotel de Bordeaux, which sadly wasn’t open the night we wanted. However, we can recommend L’Arriere Cour - generous portions of good food at reasonable prices. There is a charming vine-shaded courtyard at the back. The lady host was amusing and keen to practise her English!

Pons is a nice small provincial town with a industrial past...

Pons is a nice small provincial town with a industrial past a lot of historical buildings. It's close to the A10, so ideal to stay when you have to travel further. It's in the Cognac region, so you can visit the vineyards or just drink the cognac.

mixture of history and delightful riverside walk using the guide from the excellent staff at the tourist office.sadly the donjon was closed. the parking was brilliant and free all day. we ate lunch in the cafe Francais a perfect salad, and dined in the hotel bordeaux . there are some challenging climbs in Pons,

The small terrace was a beautiful location for dinner, which I would recommend. The room was quite small but perfect for what we needed, it was very clean, and the beds were comfy. There wasn’t aircon in the room but an electric fan was very welcome on such a warm night. Our small dog was also welcomed. There is no parking directly at the hotel, but we found a safe spot in one of the nearby car parks. A perfect stopover on our drive north on the A10. Thank you!

This charming apartment is right in the middle of the historic centre of Pons. We enjoyed the meal from the restaurant served on our shared terrace and then we watched the moon come out sipping the cognac which had been provided in the room as a welcome drink

A beautiful and relaxing retreat! The rooms are elegantly decorated and the swimming pool is an added bonus. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and their hospitality makes all the difference. The location close to the centre of Pons is also perfect.
