What guests said about Arnside:

Scored out of 10, guest rating 2.0

Absolutely awful place.

Absolutely awful place. We booked to stay here for 3 nights whilst visiting Cartmel Races, but ended up leaving after the 2nd night due to the cleanliness of the room and the attitude of the manager. For a hotel that apparently prides itself on cleanliness, we were extremely disappointed. The room was not clean, with dust, hair and dirt around the room, dirty window sills and marks/staining on the mattress/walls. I’ve included photos because I think people should be able to see for themselves. We paid £450 for our 3 night stay and were then told there was nowhere for us to sit inside to eat or have a drink, as all of the tables were supposedly reserved for other people. We asked Tony the manager, where exactly he expected us to sit outside in the rain, to which his response was to just shrug his shoulders. There was literally no care or consideration for the fact that we were paying guests who had paid to stay at his establishment. When we raised our concerns, there was no attempt to understand why we were unhappy or to make the situation any better. The lack of empathy and customer service was honestly shocking. Unfortunately, after this experience, we would definitely not stay here again and would not recommend it to others. The cleanliness needs addressing and Tony really needs to go on a customer service course. What makes the whole thing even more laughable is that they won Four in a Bed after refusing to pay the full amount because of cleanliness issues. Considering the state of the room we were given, as the photos clearly show, the irony is unbelievable! Paying guests deserve much better than this.

It is a lovely, quiet town on the Kent Estuary, across the water from Grange-over-Sands. Some good cafés and two pubs and a few interesting shops. Friendly people. A place of peace, tranquility and serenity.

Arnside is a lovely place with great views. Arnside Knott is easy to get to the top and has even better views. It's all well placed for visiting the Lake District, but the local area around Milnthorpe and Silverdale will have enough to keep you entertained with gorgeous views and many lovely shops, cafes and pubs.

There are a limited number of shops here and we enjoyed visiting each one of them. A bakery, chemist, clothing, knick naks, coffee shops with delicious ice creams, an Italian restaurant and 2 pubs, one at each end of the promenade. The railway station was close by with frequent trains crossing the picturesque viaduct. Very quiet noise wise but busy with walkers and dog walkers. Flat walks along the side of the estuary and more demanding walks all around. Beautiful little place with limited parking along the short promenade.

It is a really beautiful coast line fantastic for walking and birdwatching less good if you like sitting on the beach or sea bathing because of the tides and the quicksand. Maybe not y=the best destination for children or teenagers but lovely for people who like somewhere quiet and very beautiful

Really nice place to stay in Arnside, facing onto the waterfront, with free roadside parking opposite. It is a historic stone building, built in 1630 I understand, and called 'The Crown' until the mid-1800's, so it probably was a crown property, perhaps a customs house building, with some soldiers to protect it against the Scots raiding across Morecambe bay! I like history. But it was a lovely stay for a few nights and the room and evening meal food were excellent. I will stay again sometime.

The pictures of this house don't do it justice. It's a beautiful space with lovely rooms and everything you could want for a relaxing break. Toiletries and hairdryers, comfortable beds, breathtaking views - it's all here! The lack of TV and internet can be taken as an opportunity for a total detox. Enjoy the beautiful setting of Arnside and the Lake District and take time to connect with friends or family without digital distractions. Recommended without hesitation.
