The Old Grammar has had a glow up and boy is it good. From the second we arrived Esther, Lauren and the team could not have been more helpful to us and our canine companion. Little touches like the freshly baked flapjacks and dogs treats for the pup go the extra mile and breakfast too is a cut above. We wished we had more time to enjoy the beautiful public rooms, terrace and garden but we loved it so much we have already booked our next stay. Fantastically located to enjoy clear views over the iconic racecourse the Old Grammar is an unbeatable base to enjoy the delights of Cartmel and the Lake District. Thanks very much to the OG team. We can’t wait to come back.

Arnside is a lovely place with great views.

Arnside is a lovely place with great views. Arnside Knott is easy to get to the top and has even better views. It's all well placed for visiting the Lake District, but the local area around Milnthorpe and Silverdale will have enough to keep you entertained with gorgeous views and many lovely shops, cafes and pubs.

There are a limited number of shops here and we enjoyed visiting each one of them. A bakery, chemist, clothing, knick naks, coffee shops with delicious ice creams, an Italian restaurant and 2 pubs, one at each end of the promenade. The railway station was close by with frequent trains crossing the picturesque viaduct. Very quiet noise wise but busy with walkers and dog walkers. Flat walks along the side of the estuary and more demanding walks all around. Beautiful little place with limited parking along the short promenade.

It is a really beautiful coast line fantastic for walking and birdwatching less good if you like sitting on the beach or sea bathing because of the tides and the quicksand. Maybe not y=the best destination for children or teenagers but lovely for people who like somewhere quiet and very beautiful

Beautiful views and easy access to the Lake District, though narrow, windy Cumbrian roads can be a problem. The beach is good for walking, if you can cope with rocks - suitable walking shoes are essential

The pictures of this house don't do it justice. It's a beautiful space with lovely rooms and everything you could want for a relaxing break. Toiletries and hairdryers, comfortable beds, breathtaking views - it's all here! The lack of TV and internet can be taken as an opportunity for a total detox. Enjoy the beautiful setting of Arnside and the Lake District and take time to connect with friends or family without digital distractions. Recommended without hesitation.

Nice and clean, modern, good size for a us (2 people and a small dog), felt like a home from home. Comfortable and well appointed. Location is lovely, we did well with the weather (sunshine all day) and the property maintained a good ambient temperature. Easy walk into Arnside down the track at the side of the house and some wonderful country walks close by.
