The location was perfect for our stop-over, enroute from Germany, where we live, to visit family in Scotland. Less than 10 minutes drive from the M6. The staff were welcoming... before dinner, we enjoyed an aperitif sitting by a lovely open fire. For dinner we enjoyed delicious roast beef & yorkshire pudding! Breakfast was perfect, served by a very nice, friendly, local lady. The Inn has lots of traditional character which we love.

The Old Grammar has had a glow up and boy is it good. From the second we arrived Esther, Lauren and the team could not have been more helpful to us and our canine companion. Little touches like the freshly baked flapjacks and dogs treats for the pup go the extra mile and breakfast too is a cut above. We wished we had more time to enjoy the beautiful public rooms, terrace and garden but we loved it so much we have already booked our next stay. Fantastically located to enjoy clear views over the iconic racecourse the Old Grammar is an unbeatable base to enjoy the delights of Cartmel and the Lake District. Thanks very much to the OG team. We can’t wait to come back.

We stayed here as a family the night before a funeral nearby. We also held the wake here and the staff could not have been kinder and more helpful. The property is beautiful, the food was really lovely and the surrounding countryside is stunning. The restaurant is very popular and for good reason. This would be an amazing place to come and enjoy some time away in the glorious Uk nature - there are a lot of local walks to try. We woke up the sun rising over the hillside outside of the window, with horses and sheep grazing. Great hot water pressure, nice bedding and towels and a quiet nights sleep. A huge thank you to all the staff who were so kind and attentive during our stay.

A fantastic pub in a great little village. Good home made food in a lovely atmosphere. We have stayed here a couple of times now and would have stayed there more often if we could have got a room but it always seems to be fully booked when we want to go. The management and staff are hands on and so friendly and helpful. The locals are amazing. You can't walk around the beach or village without everyone saying hello. I would love to live here. The rooms are always clean, the beds are comfy. There is plenty of tea & coffee in the rooms. There are several areas to sit and eat or just have a drink in the pub plus plenty of outside seating and tables. They have parking in front of the pub plus a carpark at the side. It's a great place to explore the surrounding areas or just to go walking locally. I love sitting down on the beach watching the sun set. Its so peaceful.

Love Arnside!

Love Arnside! The views from the promenade and pier are wonderful - the fells in the distance were covered in snow and looked beautiful. Arnside chippy is a must - lovely food and very friendly staff in their cafe. The little bakery is also great - we sat in for drinks and food one day and a takeaway the next. The gift shops are lovely; bought a few Christmas presents. A very reliable train service runs through Arnside too - £10.90 return for 2 of us to Ulverston. Plenty of walks in Arnside too.

A very attractive village looking across Morecambe bay to the Lake District. Beautiful views. Good for walking. Various places to eat or have a coffee. If the Bistro, famous for its pizza, is full , there is a very nice cafe at the fish and chip shop with friendly staff. The hotel we stayed in also has a restaurant.

We did not think much of Arnside, the tea shop served rock hard cold tea cakes. The hotel was indifferent, We enjoyed meeting up with friends visiting National Trust properties and having a great curry in Kendal. (Bombay Bistro) excellent,

Arnside was very peaceful when I stayed there probably because the weather was rather cool for July. I enjoyed the lovely views and had a walk along the promenade. It was wonderful to be able to leave my car for as long as I wanted. The Bakery has great quiches and bread and I enjoyed my drink in the local wine bar. Yes, it's generally easy to get around though I noticed a hill. The Fish and Chip shop is very popular.

The hotel looked tired and unkempt.

The hotel looked tired and unkempt. The door to the bathroom was badly painted and still had the masking tape down the back of the door and paint splatters on the wall. My room had nice views through both windows. The bed was comfortable. Food in the restaurant was average. Unfortunately, not somewhere I would recommend.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable. All tastefully decorated and the fire was a lovely feature. The location was good, although quite a walk into Arnside, it was very peaceful. The garden and sunroom were great to have as we enjoyed some beautiful weather. Parking close to the cottage was really handy.
