Built in 1601, Kirkhouse Inn is situated in the peaceful village of Strathblane, and just an hour’s drive from Glasgow city centre. My friend and I arrived late on motorcycles and were told the kitchen had closed. The receptionist Amanda, spoke to the chef Justin, and he said he would make us a turkey sandwich to which I was extremely grateful... What actually arrived was a feast with a giant doorstep sandwich on superb bread served with salad and coleslaw - it was excellent!! A great stay and seriously good value for money - thank you we@ll be back!

O.M.G What a host, Gerry gave us the feelling that he is there only for us. It's been our first time in Scotland. He picked us up and stayed with us and made sure we had a good time. The apartment was very nice and clean, with good shower and well equipped kitchen. The apartment located 2 minutes from the West Highland way, amidst many shops to buy everything you need, pharmacy, supermarket, maps, travelers shop and of course bar and restaurant. Perfect place to start your hike!
Featuring a restaurant, West Highland Apartments - The Nevis features accommodation in Glasgow with free WiFi and city views. Shona was a very friendly and professional host. The apartment was spotless, newly renovated and very cosy. Most notable is how Shona made the apt available on very short notice. There are two bedrooms, one bathroom, and one kitchen. The king bed is very comfortable (we didn't use the other room), and the apartment was only 1 minute away from the train station where we could connect to Glasgow Central in about 20 minutes. There was a great restaurant nearby - Garvey & Co- where we were given a 20% on our meal after hearing we were staying at Shona's.
Set in Milngavie, 2.4 km from Mugdock Country Park and 50 metres from the start of the West Highland Way, West Highland Apartment offers a living room with a flat-screen TV, and free WiFi. The apartment was modern, comfortable, clean and warm. Everything worked including a strong wifi. Great location close to the town centre and to the railway station. Thanks for the nespresso coffee machine, rare in the UK.
Set 3 km from Milngavie, Tambowie Farm BnB has a garden and a terrace and enjoys views over the city and the Campsie Hills. Situated on a non working farm 3.5 km Bearsden and Mugdoch Country Park. Huge spacious room in a lovely, peaceful rural setting with everything you need. Our host was fantastic. I highly recommend a stay here.
Finglen House sits at the foot of the spectacular Campsie Hills, around 30 minutes north of Glasgow. Douglas & Sabrina were most welcoming and wonderful hosts. Beautiful cottage with lovely gardens and a creek running through the property. Bed was very comfortable.
Blanefield was very friendly and helpfull. In fact a patron of the local indian carry out gave us a lift to our lodgings after it became obvious a taxi was going to have to come from Bearsden. How helpfull is that !!
There isn't much at Blanefield, except for Eden Mill, but it is a great base from which to visit Loch Lomond, which is stunning, and I think it's on or near the West Highland Way, so possibly a good stop off if you're doing that. It's about 25 minutes from Glasgow.
This is an amazing property for a relaxing stay in the countryside, with the opportunity to mix with other residents, or chill out on your own. There is a short walk to a pub, that provides food as well. A barbecue was available in the evening for residents.
The property was set in a perfect setting. Andrew the owner was great and our dog had a great time running around with his dogs. In fact dogs are really welcome there with special dog baskets for your pets if you needed them, and they get the full run of the property and the garden. You got 10% discount off your meals at the local pub. Overall it is well worth the very reasonable price.
A wonderful find, couldn't be happier we fell upon this friendly, charming place; perfect! especially for those fond of beautiful country brimming with history. The stones, the hills, Robert the Bruce - it's all right here, and but 10 miles from Glasgow, the airport
Pros - Fabulous location, secluded and away from the main road which is a must if you have dogs. Owner/host very welcoming. Property immaculate. Room was a fabulous size which was fab because we had two dogs with us. Very comfortable bed in the Kingsize room. Breakfast was self service but everything (and more) that you need. I would definitely stay there again. Local eateries. Car needed. Con - No en-suite.
