Our recent stay at this charming two-bedroom cottage exceeded all our expectations and firmly deserves a 10 out of 10 rating! The cottage itself is a dream come true. Not only does it boast a tastefully decorated interior, but it also comes equipped with every amenity you could possibly imagine. The inclusion of both a dishwasher and a washing machine was particularly convenient, allowing us to enjoy the comforts of home while on vacation. What truly set our experience apart were our hosts, Sue and Martin. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of spectacular. Their attention to detail, from the warm welcome to the personalised tips on exploring the local area, was second to none. The cleanliness of the house deserves a special mention. It was spotlessly clean, with every nook and cranny gleaming, which made our stay even more comfortable and enjoyable. We cannot recommend this place highly enough and are already planning our return visit. Thank you, Sue and Martin, for an unforgettable stay!

We arrived 23rd December for 11 days its a Very quiet area there's storage Heaters in every room,comfortable settees,there were 2 mattresses on double bed which made it higher and very comfy to sleep on.the number 8 bus is hourly which we used alot as we don't drive,and runs till about 11pm, which either to ryde or Newport

We were greeted by the Hotels owners Des and Linda, who were extremely welcoming on our arrival. The hotel itself including our room was spotless. It is located in a perfect position near to the beach, the old town and shopping centre within easy walking distance. The dining area was in my opinion laid out immaculately and you could clearly see that the owners take pride in their hotel. There was a multitude options for breakfast but we stuck with the Full English and it was lovely. I would certainly recommend it. As we were there in the first start of January, it was extremely cold outside, but our room was extremely hot, in fact I had to turn the radiator down. The bed was one of the comfiest I have laid on. During our short stay we chatted quite a bit with Des and Linda, and enjoyed their company. I can genuinely say that this is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at and certainly one of the friendliest. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this hotel again if we returned to the IOW. The staff were great and very helpful : the two ladies at check in, the housekeeping staff, the lady who served us at the bar and the gentleman who made us dinner (the nachos were delicious and very generous at a small price!). Thanks to everyone for a warm welcome :)

I visit family who live in Brading and as well as 2 great...

I visit family who live in Brading and as well as 2 great pubs and lots of wonderful walks know how close it is to many other beautiful places to visit. We went to Ryde, Carisbrooke Castle and to Shanklin for a wonderful meal at Pendletons this visit. Past trips have included visits to Ventnor, Cowes, St Helens, Gin producers, vineyards, a garlic farm, Yaverland Beach and Osbourne House among many others. Having transport to get around the island is a necessity to take full advantage of the variety on offer.

The disposal of rubbish was accessible but there was only collection facilities for general waste and cardboard. My daughter and I always separate out plastic and metal and we were surprised that we could not dispose, for recycling, plastic and metal. As people committed to recycling we ended up taking 2 bags full of rubbish for recycling at home.

The bed was the best part of the whole stay, the steep stairs should be made public to anyone booking there and the breakfast is not exceptional or self serve, no real choice of cereals you get muesli and dates on a table already set up, a banana and 1 yoghurt, all it said on the site when booking was that breakfast was included! So we assumed it was a full English as everyone was saying it’s delicious etc! The other 2 people that stayed on same night as us were under the same assumption about breakfast, sadly we all ended up meeting for breakfast at the bestest McDonald’s! Too dark at night through the garden when coming in from sightseeing!

Brading itself is a bit tired.

Brading itself is a bit tired. However the Hungry Bear is exceptional. There are two or three other bar/pubs in walking distance but didnt use. As a location for getting about the island it is very good. 10 mins from Sandown 15 mins from Shanklin. Large Morrisons at Lake.

We stayed just above Yaverland beach which is near to...

We stayed just above Yaverland beach which is near to Brading, but Sandown is equally close and would be where most folk would walk to. Sandown has clean sandy beaches. Sandown (not Brading) is really run down ; shockingly so. Walking from Yaverland to Sandown you pass several derelict (roof's falling in, clearly not occupied for many years) old hotels on Culver Parade and further in to Sandown on the Esplanade a couple more. Many shops in Sandown closed or looking like on their last gasp. I don't think Covid was the cause, unfortunately probably pushed a few more under. Shame to see a once fine victorian town looking so bad.
