The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The garden with walks by the river was beautiful. The library had a roaring fire and comfortable chairs for reading. The food was delicious - including, at breakfast, the best creamy porridge I've had for a long time! We enjoyed eating in The bistro in the evening.

Perfectly placed if you are exploring the southern part of the Highlands. Not too big, but loads of places to eat/drink. Surrounded by beautiful countryside. Not spoilt by big housing estates/industrial development - picturesque.

Nice, very safe, well kept, small town with good shops & restaurants, not far from Stirling. Although Roman Camp Hotel is very secluded, it’s actually on the Main Street, on the banks of the river Teith.
The staff were excellent. Nicole in the bar area made us instantly welcome and helped us by advising to book a table for dinner as it would be busy. All the staff were attentive and polite. The bed linen was immaculate and the bed comfy. We walked along the main road in Callander and we were very glad we'd picked this hotel over the others...it had atmosphere and had a nicer interior with bright bar area and good drinks selection.
Breakfast was huge which set us up for a long day of walking ahead.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful spot. Close to Callander but far away from anywhere. Fabulous walking in the area. Cottage was a very good size, well equipped, like a home from home. The weather kept me infront of the wood fire all day on one of the days but I didnt mind a bit. Stairs are steep if you have mobility issues (which I dont so I refuse to mention it in the 'what I didnt like' box!). So quiet, apart from the odd pheasant shouting. Lovely.
The hotel is in a very good location, just a 7 minute walk from the main bus stop in Callander and with the twin room placed quietly out the back.
Good decor, contained menu for breakfast and very helpful hosts.
Our beds were very comfy and the shared bathroom is very good - huge!
We have stayed here twice now and it's a cracker! Excellent value for money, lovely breakfast, rooms have everything you need, comfy beds. Clean and nicely decorated. Definitely our fonto hotel for our fishing trips to the local area.
