Very warm welcome by the hosts. Everything was very clean, the bed was super comfortable and the room was very well equipped. The hosts gave us some information about the area, and there were information folders as well. The bathroom was shared with other guests, but very clean. The rooms were well isolated so you had a quiet room even when other guests were in. Would stay again!

Everything. This is the best B & B I've stayed in. I was in the area for a walking weekend with three friends. We all felt the same. The building and grounds are beautiful; perfectly presented, maintained etc. The rooms were tastefully decorated, immaculately clean, warm and very comfortable. Stefano was extremely friendly and could not do enough to make us comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and carefully presented. The location is perfect - an easy walk from the shopping area but just far enough to be quiet at night, allowing a great quality of sleep. We highly recommend this establishment and will definitely be back!

Beautifully decorated rooms, great amenities and super friendly hosts. I can really appreciate things like luxury toiletries, tea and coffee in the room and record player in the breakfast room. Callander is a lovely, busy little town, ideal for exploring...

Callander is a lovely, busy little town, ideal for exploring with footpaths to explore leading from the town, the one we explored along the riverbank and railway line is delightful, lots of birds, wildflowers etc to see. We had a great meal at the Lade Inn at Kilmahog, where they have a shop selling all the best Scottish Real Ales and Ciders, and there's a cycle repair point there too. We walked back along the path into Callander. Woberfu' breakfasts are to be had at Pip's Cafe, from 8am in a Square just off the High Street.

Small, clean town with active local life (school, clubs,...

Small, clean town with active local life (school, clubs, swimming pool, pubs etc) and good spread of shops (tourist and "real"), cafes and pubs + 2 small supermarkets. Most action is on the single mainstreet in the centre. This can be busy and noisy with through traffic during the day, but quiet at night; also heavy with tourist traffic and groups during the summer. Excellent 2-4 hour walks / cycles to the Bracklin Falls and Pass of Leny straight from the centre, and good full-day hillwalking in the Trossachs a short drive away.

From Ben Ledi to Callander you pass a loverly shop which has...

From Ben Ledi to Callander you pass a loverly shop which has a very nice cafe it also has highland cows and you can purchase food for £1 from the shop to feed the cows they are very gentle. The pub the Weavly is a very nice pub were you can get a nice drink and a very reasonable priced meal.

The town as everything you need, several pubs and resturants...

The town as everything you need, several pubs and resturants, shops, small supermarket (Tesco express opposite property) Co-op the other end of High Street. Tourist Info centre had lots of walking, cycling leaflets and places to visit. A good weeks worth of walking & cycling from the front door.

The atmosphere was friendly it was busier than it has been. Disappointed to see so many businesses boarded up. Even Greggs?!?! The Dreadnought was much better looking since Caledonian took over. Live music could pay dividends for the Waverley as it was dead on Saturday night?!?!?

Family of 4 including two teens.

Family of 4 including two teens. They were able to please themselves and look around the town with ease or go to the rec over the bridge, and we had time to enjoy the lovely independent shops in Callander and visit a pub or two. We had fish and chips one night from the town and visited the ice cream shop, but there's a good variety of places to eat and drink. We did some great walks up to the Bracklin Falls and the crags. You can also take a longer walk/run around Loch Venacher and the public path takes you through a lovely farm (Achray farm) where they sell ice cream and sorbet - you can drive there also. We used Callander as a base and had days out to the highlands and visited Glencoe, and also went to Loch Lomond, Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Visited in August. Be prepared for midges in abundance!!

The views were great. From the sitting room area, looking south onto the river and especially the small birds at the bird feeder and in the trees. Enjoyed sitting out in the garden too. Also liked the view to the north of the Callander Crags, which we were inspired to walk to. The house was lovely inside, nicely decorated, calm and well equipped.

Beautiful setting along river on edge of town centre. Room was charming and comfortable with a king-size bed and full-size bathtub. Staff was professional and helpful with any requests or questions. We had an excellent dining experience in the main restaurant. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends coming to the area.

I was impressed with Leslie and Josh they could not do enough for us they go away and beyond excellent hosts ,the local area was ideal for travelling for tourists, we had everything in the room we required. I would certainly use this hotel again. Oh and it is great for dogs.

The dreadnought Hotel is in a great location very comfortable the bar and our room we had was fantastic had a really good night in the bar will definitely stay there again. Would recommend to anyone absolutely brilliant. Staff was amazing thankyou for our stay.
