Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was extremely clean. We stayed in the carperby room and it was excellent. Brilliant power shower and a large bath, very comfortable bed. Evening meal and breakfast were superb. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

Lovely to see the kings arms open again. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. We didn’t eat here so I can’t comment on the food. We like going to a regular pub we like in Reeth. Breakfast was included in our price but we just wanted to eat somewhere else. The room was clean and had biscuits and tea/coffee and everything you need in bathroom ect. Lovely views. We love Yorkshire and it’s lovely waking up looking at it.

A beautiful stay from start to finish. Our host Claire was extremely welcoming, friendly and could not have been any more helpful. The property was immaculately presented, stylish and modern. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The room was large and beautifully decorated and the bed very comfortable, which lead to a good night's sleep. We enjoyed visiting the local restaurant/pubs in the evenings and the Yorkshire Dales were very special indeed (we visited Ribblehead Viaduct and Aysgarth Falls and the loop trail ... outstanding outdoor walks!

It was clear from the moment I walked into the Wheatsheaf...

It was clear from the moment I walked into the Wheatsheaf that great care and effort had gone into creating a convivial welcoming atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and efficient and our room was warm, clean and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were delicious with a good range of choices. The dining room and lounge were delightfully quiet which allowed relaxed conversation.

Nice little village with easy access to Yorkshire dales...

Nice little village with easy access to Yorkshire dales national park. No shops in the village but has an inn with a good restaurant. Shops within 10 miles. Nice walking paths and nearby Bolton Castle and Aysgarth are added attractions.

Lovely inn with lots of character located in a pretty little village. Room comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. Service exceptional. Meals delicious and they certainly don't skimp on portions! Bar has range of locally brewed beers as well as wines and spirits. Highly recommended.

Carperby is a quaint village, the locals were extremely friendly & helpful. Quite a historical place. Always respect the Farmers land when walking the route to the Aysgarth Falls, keep your dogs on a lead (under control) so as not to frighten the sheep, lambs, cows & calves etc it’s absolutely stunning scenery. Loved it!

Carperby is a good centre for the Yorkshire Dales in general, with its interesting villages, "Herriot" locations, Aysgarth Falls, characterful pubs, scenery, Bolton Castle, Wensleydale Railway, and so on. The Wheatsheaf is an excellent pub, as are several others in the area including the Green Dragon at Hardraw, the Red Lion at Langcliffe (no food) and the Kings Arms in Askrigg.

A typical village in a lovely part of the Yorkshire Dales. Relatively short distance to Hawes and Leyburn where there are many traditional style shops which have managed to survive the modern trend of supermarket shopping owing to their location.

The location was magical and our drive through the Dales was one of the best we've had. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent. The hotel itself was beautiful, as was the village and nearby Aysgarth Falls. Plenty of parking space, offloading and loading is possible by the entrance door, otherwise it's a bit of a trek from the rear carpark. Superb range of local beers on draught. A very enjoyable stay, which we'll look forward to repeating.
