We had no complaints about the welcome, cleanliness, furnishings and fittings. Our personal preference is for slight bigger double beds, but they were clean, comfortable and it didn't spoil the overall holiday.
We ate at The Elm Tree for a Sunday roast, which was excellent and a short drive away. We had takeaway fish and chips from Caviar Plaice who delivered to the house for a fee of £2 and was delicious.
We visited The Kings Arms at Portesham where the food was very good and a quiz on the last Thursday of the month was very entertaining.
The Thomas Hardy Visitor Centre and Max Gate were worth a visit, but the walk between the two needs to have better directions! We got lost a little bit.
The view from the Thomas Hardy Monument was spectacular (if you can climb the 120 spiral steps)
Need to come back to the area to explore further.
Would like further information about dog walks from the house as we had to take our dog in the car to the beach every day as she liked to walk off lead.
But overall we had a very good week and our family and friends who stayed with us during that time were all very impressed.
