Amazing place. The house was built in 1823 and you can feel it in the atmosphere of the place. It's not only about it's age, but most of all about the great renovation work that was done by the new owners since 2003. It's a great story - you can read it in the materials you will find in your room. Basically, it's a XIX century palace that was magically transferred to year 2023 (and fitted with plumbing and electricity). Most importantly, the staff was exceptionally friendly. The night manager that checked us in when we were late after a 4-hour whale boat trip was just amazing. I should have asked about his name...

Location was perfect for what I needed. Mwamba was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for him. My room was comfortable and clean. Very well appointed. Adequate off road parking.

We loved this place! It was spotlessly clean and everything looked brand new but it still felt really cozy thanks to the beautiful accessories - Scottish mugs, trays, colourful pillows etc. The rooms were big with really comfy beds. There is a hair dryer, an electric kettle and a microwave in the room and a selection of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, biscuits. Modern bathroom with great shower. Easy check-in. Central location with parking onsite. Would stay here again for sure! Thank you

The castle boasts wonderful spaces, even if they aren't meticulously designed. It exceeded our expectations because we were given an apartment, which we didn't know...superlative! Comfortable beds and bathrooms. Excellent dinner (one of the best in Scotland) and breakfast too. Unforgettable panorama and silence.

Mwamba was friendly and helpful....he clearly is very committed to the guest house..and busy refurbishing the premises. The rooms were spotless as was the community rooms. The rooms had a microwave with cutlery and plates in the rooms

The employees are very helpful and give great service. It’s in a gorgeous setting in the woods with great views on the drive to the house. Breakfast was continental but plenty of choice and in the evening the microwave and crockery etc, were really helpful after a long day out. We did a day of activities which we all really enjoyed.

Lovely traditional hotel set in delightful grounds. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. There are lovely walks directly from the hotel into the nearby countryside and good inexpensive bus services too if you need them. Overall a lovely stay, I'm sure we will return.
