The Shoregate is a wonderful independent hotel in Crail. It is run by a team that is committed to very high standards and has everything that is needed to provide guests with a relaxing stay. The team assisted me with tips ahead of my trip, and I also reserved dinner at the restaurant which was delicious.

We loved our 1 night stay in the Golf Hotel. We had a comfy twin bed with good bathroom facilties that met our needs. The full veggie breakfast in the morning was absolutely incredible and such a relaxed vibe from staff. Perfect location if, like us, you are attending a wedding at the Cow Shed in Crail (15 min walk!).

Went to Anstruther for a short break and found this fantastic hotel located in the town centre with lots of local amenities on the doorstep, was able to park outside easily and check in was fast & friendly. The room itself was absolutely stunning with fresh decor following the recent refurbishment, great TV & WiFi, couldn't ask for anything better! Popped into the bar for a couple drinks and received a warm & friendly welcome from the staff and locals alike. If you are planning a trip to Anstruther then look no further and make the harbour inn your choice of destination, highly recommended.

Born in Crail so enjoy every return visit.

Born in Crail so enjoy every return visit. I like how well kept the place is and the residents are so welcoming and friendly. Plenty places to eat . Golf Hotel . And local fish and chip shop both good food and well priced. A special mention to the Harbour Cafe and Gallery with it's outdoor area looking out to sea. Places I visit every visit are the Harbour, Casle walk ,Pottery and museum. What I saw for the first time at the Harbour was a beach library a box containing children's buckets spades fishing nets floats such a great idea It was so good to see the putting green is still operating and beingwell used by locals and visitors. .

Crail and the East Neuk is a beautiful part of Scotland to visit. Crail provides an excellent base to visit places like Elie, Anstruther, St Andrews, Kingsbarns and Tayport. It is easy to use the bus to travel to Cellardyke to walk the coastal path back to Crail or any other part of the fife coastal route. It has a lovely harbour and beach with a lovely gallery/cafe and shops to explore.

I have been visiting Crail and the other small towns in the East Neuk of Fife occasionally now for decades - so I'm biased! It's a lovely part of central Scotland - for its characterful houses, its old fishing harbours, its seafood, its pubs and restaurants, and its coastal walks.

Crail is a very attractive and interesting place, from the historic harbour and all round the town. Full of unteresting corners, arts and crafts, lots of walks around the town and also the coastal walks access. Proximity to several lovely gardens and other places of interest.
