We stayed one night as we walked the south west coast path. Beautiful spot with great food, very welcome hot shower and comfy bed. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, atmosphere in bar and outside seating wS great. Lovely to watch the sun set over the sea and to enjoy the beautiful views around the hotel and coast. We got a taxi back to our start point from here following a recommendation from the hotel.

Lovely place to visit for a few nights beautiful views!! There were a few people going out on walks during the day with their packed lunches made by the hotel it’s a very well organised hotel with friendly staff!!

fantastic walks straight from the hotel. Seemed to be a popular choice for visitors, always room in the car park though, so quite relieved. Book the restaurant before you leave home as it is a very popular destination. Great food, wasn't all chips and burgers. good range of ale and lagers

Hartland is an excellent location for people wanting to explore the coast path walks. We needed our car to get to places and enjoyed trips to Welcombe Mouth , Hartland Quay to watch the sunset and the wild rugged coast path towards Clovelly. For surfing and swimming its only 14 miles to Bude and sandy beaches.

The Anchor was exactly as described - and a bit more! The staff were brilliant - very welcoming and friendly. The food in the restaurant was excellent. There was a very friendly atmosphere. There was plenty of free parking. The room was exactly as described and as expected. Hartland Quay was breathtaking and a visit is an absolute must. We used the Anchor as a base to explore the surrounding area and it was exactly as we expected. We will definitely be visiting again. I really can't think of anything to criticize apart from breakfast had to be ordered the day before. The staff and the food was a real strength. The village itself was quiet but with a small selection of good pubs, a chip shop and a cafe where we had a lovely lunch - but was close enough to travel to the beaches and towns we wanted to visit.

Small village with fish and chip shop, convenience store and some lovely pubs. The Hart Inn has a slightly more unusual menu than the other pubs in the village and we chose to eat there. The food was excellent and the pub had a nice atmosphere.

From $94 per nightIt's the only place to stay at a designated SWCP stop and it was ideal for us. Nice hotel sea view room with good powerful shower and chairs set in a bay window looking out to sea and over the tables outside. Breakfast service was superb with no hanging around; they realise hikers have an arduous and lengthy day ahead. Packed lunches provided for hikers (and others) if booked the arrival night.
