Everything about Ilminster is great, lovely little town and 'full of character' high street. Our stay was only a few days in order to visit our daughter. Our second time in Ilminster, probably not the last.

Only there 2 nights, but it was an interesting town to explore, with Arts Centre, Minster, quirky and characterful buildings, and lots of independent small shops, and various cafes/eateries. Other places of interest around and about (though we didn't get that far).

Interesting range of independent shops. Pretty buildings and impressive Minster. Quite narrow streets, with several being very steep, so walking round challenging if you are not fairly fit! Somewhat limited range of places to eat in the evening, though the George was good.

Lovely place to stay.
Lovely place to stay. Great place to make a base for surrounding areas. Hotel staff were fantastic especially Sally & Barb. Food for both breakfast and dinner was very tasty, the dinner were big sizes as were the desserts. All food was excellent. Really good selection at the bar on tap beers and wide range of drinks in fridges.
Great views out the back of hotel. Large car park which is free to park in. Pets are welcomed. Would recommend hotel and will return to this location.

Delightfully old town especially Silver Street with its old shops, market square and fine church. Highlight was revisiting Sweet Surprise, which is still run as it did many years ago - charity tea room/sweet shop/bakery/ arts and crafts souvenirs.

Ilminster is a beautiful town set in wonderful countryside. We would have liked to have stayed longer and to have explored. Did find an excellent cafe #57 East Street. Cakes delicious and coffee superb.

Beautiful pub in a quiet location very close to facilities in Ilminster. Great choice of food in the pub including veggie options. The room was very compact but extremely comfortable and had everything I needed! Lovely friendly staff.

The hotel was in the middle of a very picturesque village. The food was delicious as was the bakery. We stayed in the Smithy which was a beautiful room just next to pub. V comfortable and quiet.
