The rooms had amazingly high ceilings, and the sound of the river running when the windows were opened was very peaceful to sleep to.

Whether your trip is for business or leisure, there is plenty to see and do in Lanark. The location is restful and quiet with fields and sheep lining the country roads. Plenty of pubs / restaurants around with the town centre only 10-15 minutes drive for access to supermarkets, indian restaurants, off license, etc. The Inn on the Loch is a great place to eat with a varied menu at reasonable prices with friendly staff and the park around the loch is within a great setting next to a golf course with a park for kids, runners and a good dog walking area.

Lanark has a lively High Street with a variety of shops and coffee shops. At the end of the street is St Nicholas church with an impressive statue of William Wallace and if you are planning a visit a little research may be beneficial. A visit to St Mary's Catholic Church is well worth a visit to see the beautiful interior and a newly installed interactive information screen is helpful. There is a railway station providing a link to Glasgow and other interesting towns. A few miles away is the visitors centre at New Lanark which gives an insight into the workings and employees of cotton mill. It is situated nest to the Clyde River with a walkway to view the River falls.

Scenic, leafy roads, picturesque town, and beautiful UNESCO heritage hotel site. Slightly complicated one way system to get through town to hotel site, fortunately we had google streetviewed in advance! Way out is however much more straightforward. New Lanark Mill museum site well thought out and presented. Hands on opportunities for kids including dress up - think it would be engaging for families. New Lanark Mill One hotel offered an excellent stay. Very restful location with sound of River Clyde gushing along in background along the leafy valley!

Interesting historical market town, with link to William Wallace and a tremendous local children's hone in Smyllum. It was a joy to relive such happy memories. I will be back for Lanimar Day in June next year, and maybe stay long enough to rake horse riding lessons.

Station House Lanark was a fabulous overnight stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Beautifully appointed rooms with own bathroom and luxury sheets and bedding. Super comfy and host Alan was very helpful and welcoming. Great breakfast included. The area is very cool and plenty to do. Recommend for a stay.

The hotel and room were great. The restaurant not so good. My dinner wasn’t hot and the service was very slow. My eggs weren’t cooked properly at breakfast so very disappointing. However the burger I had on the second night was great. Bar staff were very friendly and the bar area nice and comfy.

We selected this property because it is close to the town centre. Simultaneously we also had friends staying at another property in Lanark and their experience was excellent. This just served to highlight how poor and incompetent the way this property is being managed proved to be.
