My family and I had a wonderful stay at Thurlstone House. We were a group of 8 adults and 3 children, and the property was perfect for accommodating us all comfortably. The house is spacious, beautifully maintained, and very well equipped — everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. One of the highlights was the outdoor seating area, where we ate dinner every night and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. The location is ideal as a base for exploring the Peak District and the surrounding area. One evening, we took a lovely walk from the house along the Transpennine Trail into Penistone, where we had dinner at The New Inn — a charming pub with excellent food and a warm atmosphere. Overall, Thurlstone House was a fantastic choice for our family holiday, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return!

The acconadation is superb well equipped kitchen area microwave cooker toaster kettle and all cooking utensils also a fridge with freezer compartment. Good sized bedroom with hangers and drawers good bathroom with nice shower.When you enter there is a tv and electric wood burner effect fire sofa and a hair Outside there is parking for one car only but you can park on the road also.

It was in a beautiful place and the host was very welcoming,...

It was in a beautiful place and the host was very welcoming, she had even baked us a lemon drizzle cake. The property was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed for our stay and we also had fresh eggs from the farm. There was seating outside and a bbq and plenty of parking space and the chickens were very friendly 😀. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Friendly welcome on arrival and was quickly shown to our good clean room. Evening meal and breakfast excellent. Chatted to another couple during dinner who had stayed there a few times who also praised the food.

I was travelling due to work in the area.

I was travelling due to work in the area. The Dog and Partridge Inn is quite Remote but a first class accommodation that suited me. The accommodation is absolutely how you would expect a country Inn to be. Well furnished spotlessly clean, comfortable and cozy with ample car parking. The staff are most helpful, polite and friendly. The Evening meal and Breakfast was first class and a wide selection of local produce professionally presented. I will definitely be going out of my way to stay at the Dog and Partridge again.

We were there to attend a family wedding.

We were there to attend a family wedding. Probably would not have chosen the location for any other reason. Walks and local pub/restaurants are good. We eat in the Dog and Partridge - excellent - also the Wagon and Horses, Langsett - excellent.

Langsett was the near by resevoir.

Langsett was the near by resevoir. We stayed here for a motorcycle trip to the Peak District. It suited us very well as we set off from the hotel daily and visited Bakewell, Buxton area, Matlock Bath aswell as doing several well known motorcycle routes. Although we were still in South Yorkshire we found it an ideal spot for our purpose.
