FAQs about hotels in Lichfield

What guests said about Lichfield:

Lichfield is a small and ancient city clustered around Stowe...

Lichfield is a small and ancient city clustered around Stowe pool and dominated by the cathedral that dates from the 10th century. The history of England courses through Lichfield. The central area is crammed with shops, bars, restaurants and coffee shops and a church in the square has been converted to a library and social hub. Visit the cathedral and walk across the Close to Erasmus Darwin House. Samuel Johnson's house is right in the middle of town and well worth visiting. There's an enormous car park behind The George Hotel so you can start from the middle of town and work your way around in ever increasing circles, then find your way back again. There's a railway station, too.

We have driven past Lichfield many times on our way down to the south west but never stopped - it was a surprisingly lovely place with some great real ale and craft beer pubs / bars in near proximity of each other

Lichfield is a beautiful city with a town feel - its not crowded like the major cities (Manchester, London, Birmingham) and the people are warm and friendly - lots of choice for drinking, coffee shops and retail outlets surrounded by beautiful lakes and amazing historic architecture - I will be back

This is a very historic city- I did not know that Samuel Johnson, David Garrick and Elias Ashmole were from here. There are lots of parks and flower and shrub displays at this time of year. I loved the cathedral- went to Evening Prayer and Morning Prayer there - beautiful.

Lichfield has history, charm, beauty and interest in abundance. The three spires of the Cathedral have been inspiring and awesome to all for hundreds of years and the homes of Erasmus Darwin and Dr. Johnson continue to delight and inspire in their own way too. Lichfield is simply a gem of a town to visit, explore and spend time in.

First stay at the hotel and we was not disappointed. Pleasant staff right though our stay. Nice large room which was spotless. Good parking. 10 minutes stroll to city centre. Breakfast excellent, freshly cooked and as much as you could eat. Great value for money and would return. Would recommend.

We we’re visiting family in the area, Lovely apartment and perfect for our family of 4. Very good price, much cheaper than having to book 2 rooms in a hotel. Great location, very quiet neighbourhood not far to walk to the centre. Will definitely stay here again.
