This hotel is in a perfect spot just off the motorway in lovely countryside. The staff are excellent. We had only booked an hour before and asked for dinner, despite being fully booked with a large celebration group they fitted us in. The service was excellent, the food was superb and we would never have known they were under pressure. It really shows that the quality of this family run hotel. We have stayed here before and will again.

I arrived on my motorcycle on Saturday 9th May. The hotel has a fabulous garage to keep cars and bikes safe. Met some lovely other tourists in the bar and the bar staff and hotel manager were very engaging. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying there.

This family-run hotel is set in 5 acres of parkland, near the M74 and Gretna Green. It offers spectacular views, real log fires, free Wi-Fi and a restaurant with an excellent local reputation.

Excellent breakfast, great location. There for a wedding, plenty of space indoors and outdoors for everyone including kids to enjoy their time.

Large historic building, very impressive features, but decorated in a modern way. Although it wasn’t a cold November, a wood burning stove was lit in the dining room, giving the room a warm and cosy atmosphere. We had a delicious meal, perfectly cooked. The owner was very friendly and helpful, as soon as we had checked in, he took our luggage to our room without being asked. My husband is disabled but likes to do things himself even if he struggles so this was a huge help. All in all, a lovely overnight stay, I would recommend highly.

Fabulous period house, sympatheticly renovated very tastefully, period furniture was nice to see. Very comfortable period style modern bed. Bed linens were superior quality.. Jo was a fantastic host, full of information and breakfast was excellent.

Beautiful cosy apartment with everything you could possibly need to make the stay comfortable, Tina and Scott went out of their way to make me welcome. The conversion of this property from a former 6 bedroom B&B to a family home with a self-contained apartment has been very cleverly planned and executed. The shared garden at the back is beautiful.
