Food outstanding, we had lunch, dinner and breakfast. Individual dishes were outstanding with many quite superb. Prices are very reasonable too. Excellent selection of beer, wine and spirits - especially gin.
Very comfortable, warm cosy room. Super location in rural Cheshire, with lots of things to do and see even within a mile or three.
Hotel WiFi provides excellent signal strength and speed all over the site.

Malpas is a very nice little town (or village?).
Malpas is a very nice little town (or village?). It is located in the countryside but near plenty of places of historical interest for days out. Larger towns good for shopping are nearby. Chester is only 30 minutes away, and it is a really unique city dating back to Roman times. It has a Roman Wall surrounding much of the town with a walkway on top, a beautiful cathedral, and is compact and interesting with lovely medieval buildings dotting the center of the city and lots of great stores for shopping. There's a lot to see in this area of Cheshire. It also borders on North Wales for days out there.

Malpas has a variety of shops and places to eat out.
Malpas has a variety of shops and places to eat out. I stayed in a lovely cottage and had an excellent meal at the Lion.
If you arrive by train at Whitchurch as I did, book a taxi in advance- there is no taxi rank at the station.

Malpas was a quiet village, but had bus links to Whitchurch,...
Malpas was a quiet village, but had bus links to Whitchurch, a beautiful town ( we are considering having a few nights there) also through to Chester. We ate at the hotel as the purpose of our stay was to relax, which we definitely did.

The Lion at Malpas is located in Malpas which is a 15 minute drive from the nearest main town of Whitchurch. The rooms are located adjacent to the main restaurant/bar area which offers a much quieter surrounding. All of the garden areas are beautifully kept and maintained which only adds to the whole experience.
Our room was spacious and well designed with plenty of wardrobe/storage space, large comfortable bed and decent bathroom with both bath & shower. I would highly recommend The Lion at Malpas to any one either passing through or looking for a longer stay in an idyllic setting. The staff are very welcoming and keen to assist at all times making our stay even more pleasurable. A big thank you to Lisa (assistant manager) who helped us overcome a minor issue with our booking - what a star !!!

The reception on our late arrival, the rapid arrangements for dinner, excellent menu and choices of wine and beer, excellent room and assistance with luggage in very poor weather. Very popular and therefore parking (on Saturday night) could not be reserved and was not straightforward. Malpas is on a busy narrow high.street.

I recently stayed at The Lion Hotel, whilst attending a friend's wedding at the nearby, Iscoyd Park. Overall, we had a brilliant stay. The rooms were modern and spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. The pub itself looked fantastic and the breakfast served was one of the best I've had at a B&B. It was a fantastic value for money and I would highly recommend a visit. We look forward to returning.

Absolutely lovely hotel - clean, quiet, well equipped and comfortable room, great bed, dog friendly, nice shower, plenty of space. We ate at the restaurant and the staff were great and food excellent. Would definitely recommend. Breakfast was also very good and staff again really helpful and friendly.

Everything about my stay was fantastic. I work out of town alot and stay in numerous hotels, but wanted a change as I can never sleep properly in hotels. Millmoor Farm was so peaceful and quiet, I didn't want to leave. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone.
