United KingdomWe chose this hotel mainly due to convenience of distance.Had our doubts due to ratings but it proved us wrong. The Reception lady in specific, was very helpful and nice overall. We had some requests for our breakfast and she went above and beyond to fulfil our needs.
Our room was space-full and clean as well as cosy and comfortable.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating, they had a lot of helpful suggestions whenever I needed them. The pub was not loud at all so I could sleep well during the night.

We stayed 2 nights in 2 different hotels - stay clear of the castle hotel - disgusting rooms and really out dated.
The Blue Bell Hotel was fab though in comparison.
Lots to do in and around the area. We drove to Swansea to eat out at Nines World Buffet was really nice, we also drove to monkey and wore sanctury about 25 min drive.
Was also only 55 min drive from Barry Island - so that was a fab day out for my child.
I’d highly recommend Aberavon Beach absolutley beautiful and only 5-10 min drive from neath town centre. Really clean beach, life guards and Icecream shop.

I went there for a cricket match.
I went there for a cricket match. Victoria Gardens is a nice facility. The castle ruins are worth a short visit.The town centre is a pleasant walk around and the indoor market is a nice touch of nostalgia. Like most towns today, the area around the centre has too many empty retail units and properties.

The gower was fabulous, beautiful beaches didn't have enough time to fully walk worms head. A must stop was Hendryn falls 15 mins from the property stunning! And Oystermouth Castle was one of the best guided tours i've ever had £6 bargin " if Sian is taking the tour your in for a treat"

The people of Neath are friendly and welcoming and the food offerings are amazing both in quality and value for money and whilst the town centre is like most these days, not at its best it is well placed for lots of outdoor activities whether you like walking biking or beach.

Even though across from a nightclub no disturbance the place is quiet rundown but did find a few nice places to eat if you search google.within driving range of port talbot which has a lovely beach and splash park ect neath is needing some TLC

The council needs to do more to make the local area pleasant...
The council needs to do more to make the local area pleasant for tourists, didn`t see one policeman in the area during my stay there, saw local youths fighting though, much to the amusement of drinkers sitting outside the bars.

The hotel was very clean and tidy and the staff were very polite, pleasant and helpful. We came by train and travelled around in the area by bus. The hotel was very near the railway station and local buses and this was very important to us. We liked the Indian restaurant in the hotel and ate there on Saturday evening. Our twin room was spacious and well equipped with an iron and ironing board, television, tea making equpment etc. We enjoyed the full English breakfast.

Loved the staff the blonde lady that took us to her room (so sorry i didnt get her name) was amazing so helpful. The room was warm comfortable and spotless. I've stayed in other hotels in neath but never stayed full night because I was either cold or it was uncomfortable to sleep. Love the Ives stayed all night and had good sleep. Will deff be staying here everytime I go.
