Beautiful little harbour village with stunning views and lots of good places to eat and stay. Lighthouses, castle ruins, gardens all within easy driving distance with beautiful views and countryside all around.

All 3 places to eat by the Harbour are good to excellent.
All 3 places to eat by the Harbour are good to excellent. The Harbour area is nice. If you like Horticulture I would recommend Glenwan Gardens near Stranraer. The coast here is great everywhere, cliffs, beaches and everything in between. The Mull of Galloway and the area north of Stranraer are also well worth a moozey; nowhere around here gets packed silly with tourists, so we loved it.

A charming resort.
A charming resort. Perhaps I didn’t see enough of it to form a balanced view. Overall, I’d recommend going on a pleasant day, do the cliff walk to the lighthouse and, above all, if you want a quality food experience, take it with you.

Excellent small town with Harbour. Good walks.
Excellent small town with Harbour. Good walks. Suit a kids holiday. Weather dependent as no indoor facilities. Not many shops but a number of pubs/hotels. It's at the start/end of the Southern Upland Way.

Good golf courses 18 and 9 holes.
Portpatrick is a quaint harbour village.
The portpatrick hotel is in a prime location, the hotel itself has lot to be desired. Very disappointed with lack off staff , breakfast was a joke.

Nice little harbour with four pubs and a couple of cafes.
Nice little harbour with four pubs and a couple of cafes. One takeaway and a few nice shops. A real relaxing place to be. Most Pubs are harbour facing and very popular. You would be happy ticking over here for a few days relaxation. A 15 min walk upto the Castle also gives you coastal views. Its a good base to travel to places like Logan fish pond and Logan Botanical Gardens. The Mull of Galloway lighthouse is also a must do when there.

The staff were friendly. The shower excellent.The toilet had a slow close lid so no accidental slamming down and the flush was very quiet. A very quiet hotel ,no squeaky floorboards or slamming doors.The bed was very comfortable.Breakfast was ok.View was as good as you can get in Portpatrick.

This was an overnight stop over after getting off the ferry. We stayed bed, breakfast and evening meal, which was ideal. Both evening meal and breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a lovely spot. Portpatrick is a very pretty village.

The hotel has a great location overlooking the harbour at Portpatrick. The rooms were slightly aged but very clean and comfortable. Our room had a big window with 2 easy armchairs to enjoy the view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free parking.

We know Portpatrick well but it was the first stay in the Mount Stewart Hotel. The rooms were absolutely fine, The staff were excellent but above all the food was great. We have already booked up for next year.

The location of The Portpatrick Hotel is stunning, rain or shine, and the location is good for the Cairnryan ferry about 25 to 30 minutes away. You can also walk into Portpatrick Harbour area easily.
