Portpatrick is a lovely are where I have stayed many times usually the Portpatrick Hotel on the hill This time we stayed in the harbour House Hotel clean but unfortuately very small room for the 2 of us. In the 1st weekend in September in Portpatrick there is a folk festival great atmosphere but hotel prices rise accordingly Portpatrick is worth visiting we will be going back but probably back to the Hotel on the hill. The bus service is not very often really need a car plenty of nice places to visit including a whisky distillery
Great walks along the coastal footpaths and well signposted. There is a great little coffee shop call Port Pantry which was very friendly and helpful. The Crown Hotel does very nice food and they are dog friendly too which was useful. The promanade was very well kept and looked good as well as being nice to wander along.
A charming little harbor village with friendly shops and good variety of lodgings, hotel restaurants and a lovely cafe. Walking is splendid throughout the town, neighborhoods and the hills. The views of the sea are magical from everywhere.
Very friendly locals in the area, out for a walk in the morning we got many a hello which was lovely. Also the staff and customers the pubs were really friendly and welcoming. Also the staff in Harbout House Hotel where we stayed were really pleasant. This was our first visit to Portpatrick and would recommend it. We intend to return sometime in the near future.
Portpatrick is beautiful, like a visit to the past with quaint streets and shops. The people we met were very friendly, chatty and helpful. Only got spending a night in it. A good couple of days would give time to explore further. Would recommend though for its picturesque quality alone.
Portpatrick is one of my favourite places to visit. It has the best putting green in the world and my friend and I can claim a 'hole in 1'. There are quite a few restaurants to dine in, our favourite being the Mount Stewart Hotel but do avoid the Waterfront which has unfortunately gone downhill. There are lovely cliff walks on either side especially to Dunskey Castle. If we had had more time we would have visited Logan Gardens again which is a worthwhile visit. Unfortunately we stayed at the Portpatrick Hotel which I would not recommend.
The room we booked was clean enough, no view but we didn't book one with a view. The bed was a big enough size, room not very big but had all the very basic essentials. For a basic hotel, it hit the mark. The hotel has been recently 'spruced' up, but perhaps needs some more tender loving care. The DBB deal was quite good value, even though the room wasn't particularly modern. The meal in the restaurant for dinner was good, absolutely huge portions which were not finish-able, but tasty nonetheless.
Portpatrick
Breakfast was not included in the deal. The location is high on a hill overlooking Portpatrick village and close to the Portpatrick hotel. It is reasonably easy to go down the the village but a bit of a hike back up if you are not reasonably fit. There is a very adequate supply of hot water for baths/showers and the heating system is very good.

lawys visit portpatrick once a year at some point , love this plce if we can get booked in if not we stay at mount stewart hotel, love the self catering at apartment 19 stayed her twice now and hotel 5 times never dissapointed
The rooms are a bit dated, feel a lot of focus was made on food which showed, however not a lot of choice for vegetarians, breakfast was lovely , very very busy hotel probably most popular in Portpatrick
It’s easy to understand why this hotel won their award. The staff are so attentive. The accommodation was superb and the food outstanding. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Portpatrick.
The location and architectural style of the hotel were fantastic. Scottish Baronial style and overlooking Portpatrick
