The breakfast was brilliant, we had it at the patio in front of our room with the lovely view of the farm. Our little collie was super welcomed and had a lovely patch of green to run and play. The bed was ever so comfy and the owners were kind enough to recommend pet friendly restaurants for us to eat.

Good pedestrianised town centre area, fantastic indoor bus station with a brilliant regular bus service, and the railway station nearby too makes it very easy to get around, with buses every 30 minutes to Llangollen and even more frequently to Chester. Buses are reasonably priced. Little to do in Wrecsam itself. Erddig Park National Trust is on the edge of the town.
Location in busy street, main car park reached through a tight gap only just big enough to get through, great for overnight accommodation food great staff great , room slightly on small side but very clean and comfortable
The parish church of St Giles is a gem with lots of lovely features and the tomb of Elihu Yale. The Catholic Cathedral of St Mary's is less decorative but still worth visiting. The city has some lovely old buildings - many of them former banks that are now pubs. There are two nice little arcades to meander through. Wrexham makes a good base for exploring - although you'll need a car. The nearby villages of Gresford and Overton with their unique churches are worth visiting. Chirk, Powis and Whittington castles are easily reached. The market towns Oswestry, Wem & Whitchurch are also a short drive away and well worth seeing. The Welsh gems of Llangollen and Welshpool are also nearby.
Caernarfon castle was great, but they need a notice to clearly state those not fit for climbing or disabled may struggle to access up to 70% of the experience (a castle with steep stairs and virtually no climbing rails). Sensory garden at the Nature reserve was outstanding
Plenty of pubs and restaurants in area of Wynnstay Arms who also provided food if required. Ate evening meal at Wetherspoons and breakfast at Lloyds Wetherspoons which was next door to Wynnstay Arms. Only used Wrexham as a stopover for picking up a narrowboat at Whixhall which was 30 minute away. Also visited Erdigg Hall which was only 10 minutes away.
I planned a 2 week trip around Wales and knew Wrexham was a must as I'd never been there before. When planning The Trip, I made sure my time in Wrexham would be spent over a weekend, but in all honesty, I could easily have added another day! Brilliant City, Brilliant People,
Lunch and Breakfast were excellent in a spotless Restaurant and good value for money. Great service. Rooms were spotless and a full compliment of beverages including tea, coffee and hot chocolate, also, two bottles of water were supplied. Only a short stroll into town and the bus station. We requested early access to the rooms and they were ready for us on arrival. If I'm in the area again I will definitely return to this Hotel. Loved it!
Very peaceful and tranquil, just what I needed after a hectic summer work schedule. Stunning views from the hut and a lovely sunset. Ideally located for exploring North Wales and the surrounding areas. The amenities are relatively basic but more than adequate for the stay and that adds to the charm of the place. Would recommend the Shepherds Hut for anyone wanting a relaxing break.
