GreeceI have travelled to many places and have stayed at fine hotels yet this one stands out above the rest.
The property looks beautiful in the photos, however reality is far better. On arrival what impresses is the grandiose entrance, the large and beautiful gardens and the wonderful reception building.
The setting itself is magnificent, a vast property floating above the sea in a tranquil environment with world class architecture.
The rooms impress with their size and height of ceiling. Most importantly the quality of construction material and decoration is above that of any 5 star hotel I have visited. This hotel was not built to rent but was built to the highest standards that few can afford for their private residences.
The driving force behind this project seems to be not profit but the pursuit of perfection.
As for the people and service, you instantly feel you are at home and you have know them for a long time.
Simply perfect!!

A beautiful little town especially the older part. Wonderful restaurants, cocktail bars and a great icecream shop with lovely flavours! The Mani buildings in the old part of town were really pretty and the people very friendly.

The town is very pretty and the parking was very easy with a big lot outside the village walkway. We had several good meals and we had excellent lemon sorbet (we get it in each town and this was one of the best). The location was good for exploring the Mani area. One day we headed south and the next we explored north of Arepoli. That made the location excellent for a few days in the area.
The town is perched high above the sea. There are great views of the sunset, sea in the distance. But it does mean to go swim you need to drive. The beaches are not far, but they aren't walkable to either.

Romantic little town with cobble stones pathways and a relaxed vibe - food was authentic and everything was close by which made walking easy with 2 children. The beaches in the near area are also very stunning Gerolimenas as has great fish tavern right on the beach. Our fa our ire meal was at mavromichaikiko roof top with stunning views I’d the sunset. Our highlight was Fonda’s beach and having fins with the kids through the caves and fantastic snorkelling at alypa beach .

Areopolis is quaint and has an active night life (bars, coffee shops).
The bar AULA was excellent with nice drinks and music.
We did not eat well in Areopolis (Mavromichaleiko served us uncooked cheese pie and had very poor service), but Kourmas at Limeni right on the sea (just 5km away ) is an absolute MUST.
Also a drive to Stoupa, Agios Nikolaos and Kalogria Beach (30-40mins drive) is an excellent day trip. We ate at Agios Nikolaos at Elli's taverna which was EXCELLENT. Kalogria beach is SUPERB and Kalogria restaurant run by Christos is EXCELLENT, right ON the beach.

It is such a cute lively town - the stony buildings, small taverns and cafes. It is located in Mani, my favourite part of Greece. We travelled with car, and in September it was easy to find parking places. We also visited Limani, a beach/village 10 min drive under. The sea was great, you can even spot turtles there!
We took some pasteries from the local bakery near the town's main church! Did not regret it 🙂.

We stayed in a family room which was bigger than we expected. It was super clean and the cleaning ladies did a fantastic job every day - not just making the bed and cleaning the bathroom! Breakfast was very good. The pool area was fantastic - lovely staff and nice music. The hotel was just a few minutes walk from the restaurants and shops.
