Had a lovely stay here. The room was spacious and had a big bathroom with a great rain shower. The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated the extra blankets. Breakfast was great too - though be careful not to order too much, portions are huge! Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was also easy to find and very convenient

Right near the main square, close to the local tavernas with views up the Ancient Mystras. Parking behind the hotel was convenient and the pool was nice. Breakfast was superb. Only a short drive away from Ancient Mystras, clean room, good wifi - we were happy. There was even a tiny lift to get our suitcases up to our floor!

I had a truly wonderful stay at this campsite. From the moment I arrived, the welcome and service were incredibly friendly and helpful. It was fantastic to have an on-site restaurant where we could enjoy meals until around 8 PM, and drinks were also available. The grounds are lovely, and we were especially delighted by the accessible swimming pool. The overall atmosphere was one of peace and quiet, with the added bonus of a beautiful view of the castle. It was a very pleasant experience, and we sincerely hope to return!

A lovely traditional house, high in the mountains, with beautiful hikes nearby. The real gems are the kind couple who run it, for whom I’d give 15/10. Impossible to do them justice in a few lines, but if you’ve been there, you know! Outstanding food, outstanding welcome, outstanding service, outstanding attention to detail, over and above anything a 5* hotel could ever offer because it comes from the heart. WHAT an experience! We miss them already …

Vassilis is a wonderful host, extremely helpful and friendly. The little house on the slopes of Mystras Hill offers a great view onto the Spartan plain as well as to the ruins of Mystras. It is well kept, tidy, well equipped, and easy to reach. It was a pleasure to be there, and felt really more like visting friends than "just another night at a hotel".

We spent two days at Mystras, wandering around the deserted village. Another day at Sparta, and then a day driving around the small villages. Mystras is a small settlement, not commercial, if you want commercial Greece don’t go there, if you like laid back Greece go there.

The archaeological site was fascinating.

The archaeological site was fascinating. We spent a half day there. There is enough remaining there that you can actually visualize what life must have been like. Bring water along. No bathroom facilities that we are aware of. Hotel summary: Beautiful room with nice balcony to enjoy views from, loved the total design of the complex, fabulous food. Welcoming staff. Thank you, 🌹 Rose! 🩷

Mystras: A Timeless Experience, Best Enjoyed in the Afternoon I absolutely loved my time at Mystras. I actually visited twice: once in the afternoon, from about 3 PM until closing, and again the next morning. I have to say, the afternoon experience was far more enjoyable. In the morning, the site was considerably more crowded with tourists, including several tour groups. The afternoon, however, offered a much more peaceful atmosphere with fewer people, allowing me to truly feel the serenity and unique ambiance of the place. Plus, the afternoon sun shining through the church windows onto the altar icons created a truly magical view. It's a sight I won't soon forget!

The main entrance to the arachnological site at Mystra is undergoing a major upgrade and the Palace is undergoing a major renovation . I would delay visiting Mystra until the upgrade and renovation are complete. We took a day trip Sparta and would recommend parking at the archaeological site and walking around the few points of interested then driving to the Olive Museum. The parks and driving in Sparta is difficult and there is not much to see in the CBD. The Sparta Museum as disappoint with only two room of artefacts at 10 Euros per person.

Great location to visit sights in mystras and Sparta.

Great location to visit sights in mystras and Sparta. We only had two days but could have stayed longer - great walking and running trails. Lots of restaurants to choose from in mystras itself and very close by. Lots of very tasty Greek food and local house barrel wine. We would definitely go again on our way to the west and southern parts of the country which we didn’t have time to do this trip. We visited the castle and the monastery - great if your reasonably fit! We visited the archeological museum and all that there is relating to Leonidis. We drove through the mountains afterwards to Olympia which were both amazing - the drive and the place.

I could happily stay longer in the superb hotel, but mainly there is one sight to see in Mystras - the site of the old Byzantine city. We spent longer there than anticipated; and if we had more time and energy we could have spent the entire day. Drive to the top; see the citadel and the churches at the top. Drive to the bottom to see the rest of the site. There is good information at the site, but prepare by reading up ahead and ideally have a good guidebook to make clear what to see at the site.

Everything! One of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Kind, friendly staff, wonderful breakfasts delivered to your room, and we had a Junior Suite, a really beautiful room, lots of thoughtful and individual furnishings, with a small terrace and an amazing view over the plain and the hills including the Mystras site. We hope we might come back sometime.

The hotel is right in the middle of Mystras, close enough to the monasteries that they can be reached with a short walk. The room was comfortable and there's even a small pool, although it was too cold to use it in April.

Got there somewhat out of season: It is a nice place, that feels more like 4 stars. Got a sizeable outdoor pool, indoor facilities are good but fairly small. Location is very convenient near Mystras and Sparta.

Beautiful hotel / grounds. Friendly & helpful staff. Rooms are spacious & beautiful. Buffet breakfast is amazing. The restaurant food is lovely, but again very limited if you don’t eat meat.
