Unique experience to stay on The Rock! Hike to the upper ruins is a must do, we should have done it upon arrival but waited til the morning of our departure. I would have preferred sleeping in, longer time at wonderful breakfast buffet, and relaxing on our balcony before leaving …. there’s always next time.

The castle area is such a beautiful place and provides a serene place to relax. The views and village atmosphere make you forget the pain of walking up all the stairs and undulating paths. Elofonissis Island with its beautiful beaches is a short drive away so perfect base for a day trip.

Monemvasia was wonderful. The views were amazing as was the architecture. The Byzantino Hotel was great as were their recommended restaurants. The staff went out of their way to please and to help with directions on driving excursions in the area (Google Maps is out to lunch at times - this was pointed out by staff).

We loved the uniquely beautiful centuries-old buildings and intimate medieval streets. The views are gorgeous, the history very interesting. There is a nice choice of restaurants, and if you are physically fit, there was swimming and walking-hiking without leaving the old town. The small museum is excellent! Travelers should know that within the castle area the streets are rocky and sometimes slippery. So it is important to wear sturdy shoes and be physically healthy.

I would highly recommend a 2 night visit to this amazing island. Perfect for hikers or people who just want to relax and enjoy the experience. Comfortable shoes with a good sole is recommended as the cobblestones can be slippery. The views are spectacular and the tavernas serve delicious food. This place would be quite tricky for people with mobility issues but doable. A fantastic place to visit.

We had the most beautiful room with an amazing view overlooking Monemvasia. The staff here were super friendly providing a map and giving us information about good restaurants. The room was spacious with a big verandah and we decided on the room with a sea view and so glad we did. The buffet breakfast was fabulous with a lot of choices and the staff were really lovely. The hotel was also well located to go across to the old town and climb up to the acropolis. Overall would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Monemvasia.

Peaceful place directly on the seaside, without beach, but with a nice swimming pool. Amazing breakfast-moment at pool-bar watching the sea and enjoying the great atmosphere with relaxing music. Parking always available. Optimal location to travel in the peninsula, reach Neapoli and Elafonisos with the new road. 5 minutes by car from a couple very good taverns and 5 minutes to Monemvasia (car is needed, because not nice main road to walk through). I loved the architecture of the hotel.

Great choice for Monemvasia! We stayed 2 people in this little traditional studio for 2 nights, and it is a great choice for value for money and very charming, just opposite a small wine tasting bar, but very quiet. It is a bit smaller than expected in the pictures but with everything you need, you can even cook there. The brunch in the nearby hotel terrace is amazing with fresh orange juice and sea view. Don't miss hiking up to the upper town! We would stay again, thank you!

monemvasia is amazing. you are in the actual old town of a 14-16 century fortress. this is not like being in a usual hotel with a fortress nearby. the atmosphere is fantastic. the hotel provides a nice breakfast. your room is small and dark but it’s built into the ancient walks and stays cool that way. we had a balcony looking out over the ocean. there are great restaurants and wonderful hikes through the upper town and fortress. definitely do this on your trip.

So the place itself feels a little old and out-dated. With that being said, it served it's purpose. It was very very close to the Monemvasia medieval town and was very easy to access. The water in the showers was always nice and hot (which is hard to find in Greece), but the design of the bathroom is a bit odd haha. If you are just here for 1 or 2 nights i think it's perfect. If you plan to stay for a while and need a kitchen and such, it may not be the best.

We had an amazing stay at this centrally located hotel in the castle (seconds away from all the shops and restaurants). The room had two windows with a great view of the main square and the sea. The owners were incredibly friendly, providing us with helpful insights and recommendations for activities in Monemvasia and the surrounding area. I highly recommend this hotel for its convenience, stunning views, and warm hospitality.

The location was the best in the area. The view from our balcony was perfect. The room was one of the best that we stayed for our three months in Greece. The host were wonderful and we could have stayed here a month. It's a short walk to everything. Parking is good, the bed was very comfortable, great shower, fireplace (although we didn't need it), and two VERY NICE BALCONIES.

Quiet end of town, but still across from the marina. Quick walk to restaurants and stores. Hotel has its own parking lot which is a huge plus, as parking can be tight in this town. The mattress and pillows were premium quality. The shutters and curtains blacked out the room. The windows suppressed all sounds. We slept extremely well.
