One of the best values for money that you can get in the city. Exceptionally available staff. Exceptionally nice room. Great terrace and breakfast place. Surprised to see a personalised welcome card and some Greek sweets. Room was big and bed extremely comfy. Very close to buss stops, metro station and not more than 10’ to the seashore. Plenty of coffee shops and sweets shops close to the hotel. Really great stay! Thank you Oscar Olympic Hotel!

Only seeing the city itself can be done in a day or two, depending on your interests, but as a center of incredible sites around, this city is amazing. Rent a car and expect to drive 1.5-2.5 hours away and you will be amazed by what you can visit! Numerous beautiful quaint towns, lakes, Mount Olympus family hikes bathed in green shade with waterfalls, soak in the beautiful world G-d created! Meteora should be classified as the eighth wonder of the world, awesome ancient history at the tomb of Phillip the second plus its sister museum. Impeccably tasteful, quiet, and deeply edifying. Highly recommended, you can easily stay for 4-5 days and still have new areas to explore. The people are friendly and speak great English. Prices low compared to Rome,. We didnt have time to see the numerous beaches, but might make it back in the future.

Great city with a lot to look at.

Great city with a lot to look at. Really enjoyed our cruise around, looking at all the old ruins, which the city haas preserved well. The harbour area was lovely, and you could walk for miles. The local food market/area was also good. Not too pricey but good food. Well worth a visit!

I really enjoyed the old town and the stunning early...

I really enjoyed the old town and the stunning early Byzantine churches, some of which have been beautifully cleaned and restored. Friendly people, good food and great vibes in May despite the cool weather. I didn’t like the fact that none of the buildings from the Ottoman Empire era had been restored or were open for visitors. In particular I was really disappointed to discover that the hamam has not been kept working. It’s now a conference centre so a very lucky few get to see inside but no one can use it for its proper purpose. Taxi drivers are scary because they use their phones while driving. The other must sees are the museums, (Alexander the Great’s army was paid for by the gold found in the hills and rivers nearby). The museums are full of the most amazing gold jewellery and artefacts. If you have a hire car, go explore the Vergine area where Phillip of Messina, Alexander the Greats father was buried. That tomb was never robbed so the finds are stunning!

The central part of the city is quite nice, lots of historical sites, very good restaurants. However, outside this region the traffic is a bit chaotic, cars parked in any place imaginable. Everything is written in Greek, very few place have English text.

Walking through the city is a pleasure, whether you're exploring the waterfront, visiting historical landmarks, enjoying the local cafés, or experiencing the lively nightlife. There is always something to see or do. One of the things we appreciated most was how safe the city felt. We felt comfortable walking around during both the day and the evening, which made our visit even more enjoyable. Overall, Thessaloniki is a charming city that offers the perfect mix of relaxation, history, great food, and vibrant city life. Excellent friendly small hotel within walking distance of everything in central Thessaloniki. The staff were incredibly friendly helping us with bags, giving us a map of the area and recommending places to eat. I would definitely stay here again next time I am in Thessaloniki. There is no lift as the property is old but this wasnt a problem as the staff cheerfully carried our bags to and from the room.
