    What a beautiful town !

What a beautiful town ! Lots of restaurants, cafes, places to visit. Very walkable and be ready to take a lots of pictures. Lots of ATM and banks to get local currency. Banks exchange currency at a very good rate. Lots of tours options available, like visiting lake Atitlan, hiking volcanos, riding a motorcycle or visiting other towns. You’ll need more than two weeks if you come to Antigua.

Antigua is a small city surrounded by volcanoes in southern Guatemala. It is famous for its Spanish colonial buildings, many of them restored after the 1773 earthquake that ended Antigua's 200-year rule as the colonial capital of Guatemala. Some notable examples of the architecture include La Merced, a low yellow and white church in the Baroque style. It is an integral part of the famous Holy Week in the city, with parades and rituals

    It is an amazing place.

It is an amazing place. Some enormous earthquake in 1773 (I think)... and the ruins of all those churches and monasteries are still there. The city building code is super strict, so all Burger Kings and the like can't deface the buildings with their usual oversized logos. Very colonial... great restaurants... nightlife seems good, but I only got the short end of that stick (disco beat at 2 am from the building next to our hotel room!). I go back every time I go to Guatemala. There is just too much to explore in Antigua and just being there is nice. Best during the week, though, since weekends are flooded with folks from the City.

It is a charming town, vibrant and felt very safe.

It is a charming town, vibrant and felt very safe. Lots of super restaurants and hotels. Warning, all the roads and most of the pavements are pebbled so flat shoes essential to walk around. Because the roads are pebbled, the traffic drives very slowly and stops for pedestrians. It is worth getting out of the town to see outlying villages to get a better feel of the area.

A great experience in Antigua Guatemala! Both Efraín and Sylvia were excellent hosts! Really kind and helpful! The room was spacious and was equipped with everything we needed. The location was excellent, very close to the city centre and round the corner from the main market. The hosts were extremely helpful and assisted us with an urgent issue that occurred at the very last minute of our stay! The price was also very good, especially if we comare it with the average in Antigua. Muchísimas gracias queridos Efraín y Sylvia!!! Un abrazo!

Not the place if you're looking for a 'boutique hotel' vibe (you'll find plenty in the rest of Antigua) but perfect if you're looking for a no-nonsense place close to the city center with a very homey feeling. Alvaro and his wife were so helpful and friendly troughout our stay (general info, transportation,...). Room and breakfast were basic but decent, bathroom's a bit run down but overall great value for money. Views of erupting Fuego volcano from the roof terrace!

Beautiful, perfectly located hostel in the city center of Antigua. Nice common areas, rooftop terrace with stunning view over the city and the surroundings, on clear days you can even see El Fuego erupt. Best breakfast we had in whole Central America, sweet and savory, freshly prepared. Staff is very helpful with booking tours and transportation. Doublebed was comfortable, room quiet. Water pressure in the shower could have been better, but was totally acceptable.

The property was beautiful and all of the greenery and gardens were so nice. Most importantly, the woman who worked at the front desk was so nice and helpful. I was grateful she was so kind to us, made good recommendations, and saved us by coordinating a ride for us short notice as all of our Uber drivers were canceling on us. The Uber drivers wanted to give us rides off the app and when we said no, they cancelled our ride requests.

You cannot beat the location! It's right by the central plaza, and is walking distance from the sights, shopping, and amazing restaurants. The hotel itself is beautiful, especially the pool. The hotel doesn't serve breakfast, but they offered discounts for some restaurants that were in walking distance. We liked being able to try a different place for breakfast every day. Our room also had stunning views of the volcanoes.

Very well appointed rustic hotel, about a 15 minute walk from the center of the town. The rooms were in front, then there was a nice garden, then there was the section with the restaurant and pool. Hector in the restaurant was awesome and very accommodating. Overall the staff were all very friendly and even though most didn't speak much English and we did not speak much Spanish, we found means of communicating.

The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and approachable. The rooms were well designed, with a great warm shower that you need after a long day of traveling - and the bed was clean and comfortable. The breakfast is a must-have at Ojala! They had two great options that we got to share. One other important perk is their garden and patio - all you plant lovers can spend a long time just examining their plants.

The staff was absolutely the best. They helped us arrange out entire itinerary in Guatemala from Antigua to Volcano hike to Lake Atitlan and back, as well the transportation. The rooms are modest but fit the purpose and the property is really nicely decorated. There is also a rooftop cafe that has good food and great views.
