Hotel in Antigua Guatemala
This luxurious 5-star hotel is set a 10 minute walk from the center of Antigua Guatemala. In a former convent, it offers an outdoor pool, spa and gym, as well as several museums and galleries. There is no other hotel like this one, built on the mediaeval ruins. The atmosphere and and scenery of the hotel is out of this world. The spa is great with two heating pools and a big swimming pool, plus dry and steam sauna. There are even heater on the roof of the sap so you can be really comfortable even at night. I tried the jade massage and it was really good. The meals at the restaurants are great too. The king bed with spa access is much more confrontable than the standard two queen beds.

Cute and chic! It is relatively close to shops and restaurants/coffee. I would definitely love to stay here again! The breakfast and dinner were absolutely great! Staff was extremely friendly and more than willing to help in any way.
Antigua is a very quaint space. They have managed to retain much of the colonial vestiges with pockets of development. The people are pleasant and helpful. Lots of food options. It's best to convert currency at the local exchange shops as stores and food establishments tend to Ballon the rate, leaving you with much less value for money. The food and culture was good. Watch out for the locals as they tend to be quite persistent in selling items -sometimes leaving you to feel bad having not bought anything. Hectors Bistro was very nice. So too was Restaurant Posada Don Rodrigo and Almacen Troccoli. Hotel Casa Del Parque offers a very nice stay and moderate cost.
I love Antigua. It is very international and a lovely blend of modern and traditional. It has something to offer everyone. You can easily walk the entire city if you have time. If not, or if the cobblestones are difficult for you to navigate, you can hire a tuk-tuk taxi or a driver. My favorite all-time restaurant is Cerro San Cristobal en Alto. (Photo of view and salad below.) The views and the garden, which provides the food for the guests, are incredible.
Antigua is great, I stayed for 7 days and that did feel a bit too long. I would say 4/5 days would have been perfect. As a female solo traveller, Antigua felt safe (I didn’t go out when it was dark for obvious reasons). It’s a beautiful place with lots of history and culture. I would definitely recommend. It’s super easy to walk around or catch a TukTuk. I recommend doing the hike to Pacaya if you’re not feeling up to doing Acatenango. Food wise it was OK. Nothing really exciting or amazing about the food and it’s quite unhealthy as well. Visit the big market near the bus terminal to get some gifts and delicious fruit!
We were there for Semana Santa and highly recommend. Traffic was a mess during this week but that is to be expected. Town has great food, bars, and the people are very friendly and helpful. Views of surrounding areas are amazing. Lots to do in Guatemala.
Have visited many times and was happy to see the town appears to be thriving again. Shopkeepers happy to see customers returns, very friendly We loved eating at Cafe Condessa, Dona Luis, visiting and having dinner at Santo Domingo. Loved shopping at the Mercado next door to Cafe Condessa in Lydia’s well stocked store. Very helpful and always look forward to visiting with her. Sorry the tuk tuks are not available in all parts of the town
You cannot beat the location! It's right by the central plaza, and is walking distance from the sights, shopping, and amazing restaurants. The hotel itself is beautiful, especially the pool. The hotel doesn't serve breakfast, but they offered discounts for some restaurants that were in walking distance. We liked being able to try a different place for breakfast every day. Our room also had stunning views of the volcanoes.
The property itself is very nice. The hotel is situated in a colonial building, with a beautiful interior garden, where one can relax in the sun (there are chairs and sun-beds) next to a small artesian fountain. The rooms are spacious, with large beds, a desk and a decently sized closet. Everything is clean and the location is perfect - less than 5 minutes walk to Parque Central.
Location is really great. Close to the main plaza, local market right across the street. Amazing roof-top terrace with seating and views. Comfortable bed and super friendly staff. Important note - Staff is super friendly, though has very limited English skills ( you are after all in Guatemala!). Interior courtyard seating on all 3 levels with beautiful hanging plants
We loved our stay at Casa del Cerro, Antigua. The place is really nice, quiet, and comfortable. The staff is really nice and they helped us with all our doubts and they booked all our transportation and tours. The beds are nice, and the bathroom had good hot water. The outdoor space is precious.
The setting is beautiful. The room was huge and comfortable, with wonderful finishing and an incredible shower/bathroom- one of the best, with incredible water pressure. The TV was huge and the fridge useful- all of the things you'd want from a decent hotel room were first class.
The staff was so very kind, helpful and considerate! The location of the hotel was ideal as it was within walking distance of the plaza. Loved that we had some amenities that we have not had in other hotels such as fans, hairdryers and most importantly, a coffee pot in the room!!
Location was great. Beautiful spacious room with all the amenities including a whirlpool bath. The hotel was very comfortable with a lovely decor. The on line pictures don't do it justice. No issues when I booked the third night to keep the same room.
Great clean hotel in a good location, breakfast was included and wonderful. Staff were really nice. It was very safe feeling too. I often left my door open and felt fine with that. Was a nice experience, lots of travelers. Pool is great for kids too.
The shower was great. Good water pressure and hot, which you don't always get in cheaper hotels. Bed and pillows were pretty comfortable, but having the head board of the bed not being attached to the wall or the bed frame is always annoying.
It was amazing. The hotel has many facilities and gives coffe for free all night. You can buy your food for breakfast and prepare it in that place. There are a restaurant with the best view of the city where you can try amazing cocktails.
Antigua Guatemala
The place is calm and cozy right in the entrance of Antigua Guatemala. Doña Ana was súper welcoming, polite and friendly. I would definitely repeat and highly recommend it for easy travellers. Thanks for everything.
the spa means it has a separate Jacuzzi bath and also access to the hotel spa area with a separate private pool. sauna etc. if you get a massage, access to the spa is included for the day.
Beautiful gardens and common area. Great Saul's restaurant attached to hotel. Very helpful staff. Great location! Awesome community support check out the history of the Good Hotels!
Great friendly staff. Very comfortable rooms, very pretty hotel, well decorated, lost of details. A high sense of intimacy. Great location. Quiet. Warm pool.
Charming small hotel. Spacious room with Guatemalan decor. The breakfast was great. The bed was comfortable. It felt like being home. Definitely recommended.
The hotel was right in the middle of antigua and very cute. The decor was nice and the staff was fantastic!
Lovely hotel, nice staff, very nice rooftop terrace. Room was very small, but ok for one night.
Absolutely stunning Lodge in the hills outside Antigua! We came with our 2yo for a few days of relaxation from our trip and loved everything about our stay at Earth Lodge! Lovely little huts strewn across an avocado farm, beautiful views of the volcanoes and surroundings. We loved the bathroom in our 2nd hut, El Sueco! Food is amazing, we love that you can order breakfast anytime of the day. Very well-led yoga classes in the morning (fees apply). Staff/Volunteers are all very welcoming and helpful with any questions or special wishes you may have. Our 2yo specially loved the playground and football field!! Yummy daily dinner menu.
Luscious sheets, warm staff, small number of rooms, impeccably quiet location, good breakfast, attention to detail, gorgeous room, great parking
