The staff was super nice, friendly and could easily help with information about Antigua and potential tours. We stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom but had the feeling that the bathroom was only used by us, so YES! Bathroom was always clean and they provided us with towels. Beautiful inner courtyard with hammocks all around. Great walking tour with Nery!!!! We were lucky and ended up having a private one. :-) They also arranged our transfer out of Antigua. (Didn’t try the food because there is loads of choice in Antigua and we wanted to try that instead.) Would totally recommend it!

only place in the world were you can step back to a spanish colonial city. Antigua is at least 10 by 15 blocks and everything dates back to the 1500's. No other place in latin america has a colonial city this size. Plenty of good food, spanish language schools and friendly people!
Antigua is a strange place now with everyone required to wear masks outside and all the time. Hard to connect with people like this. Usually enjoy my stay in Antigua but happy to get out quickly on my way to Lake Atitlan.
A beautiful, walk able sized little city situated in a valley nestled between volcanoes. Lots of culture and history surround you as you walk the cobble stone streets. The climate is wonderful with temperatures in the 50's F in the mornings and low 80's F during the afternoons. Great food abounds and be sure to try the local cuisine in addition to the more modern things like the two breweries in town. We shall return!
Guatemala is a beautiful, cobble street, Ex colonial town... the old old buildings are right in there with the new.. so many little doorways open up into unexpected beautiful courtyards full of art and flowers. There are so many artisanal boutique shops and even the fast food restaurants blend in.. no big Golden Arches signs for example! Food is great and varied, people are friendly, the town is buzzing and exciting! Prices are very reasonable, the market is fun but a bit crazy on the weekends! The ‘Paca’ stands at the back of the market are full of international 2nd hand clothes where you can find some designer gems if you are in the right mood. The town oozes style and some eccentricity but feels very safe to walk alone even at night! Don’t miss a visit if you get the chance!
As a woman traveling alone I’m always very aware of how “safe” a place feels (or doesn’t) and I loved Antigua. Yes, a tad touristy. But it’s not too bad. On my first morning I took an ATV (4-wheeler) tour with “Simoon Tours” and loved it so much that I went with them on a different one the following day as well. If I’d had a free day I’d have done a 3rd. These were definitely the highlight of my trip and if you don’t mind a little dust and adventure you’ll love it. I found it quite easy to spend too much money on food in Antigua. Because it’s touristy there are a ton of excellent restaurants but they can get pricey. I spent much more here on dining than other places in CA but I also ate the fancy tourist stuff that was plentiful instead of searching for good local joints. Uber is there and operates exactly like at home, but is SUPER cheap. So I then tipped a lot. Do try to see some of the surrounding area. Going via ATV was a blast but if that’s not your speed I’m sure there’s a more traditional tour. There are some beautiful little villages, a very cool place where they make chocolate by hand, many gorgeous vistas, and a magical place called Hobbitenango where you can shoot arrows and throw machetes (I’m totally serious and it’s big fun).
Great city to learn the history of Central America and mayan culture. It's a touristic city, so the prices are higher than in the rest of the country and it's kind of difficult to find restaurants with "Guatemalteca" food. Very recomended, you need at least 5 nights to enjoy it with fullness.
This is magical place! I booked presidential suite and I couldn’t be happier. I live in Guatemala and during my “getaway weekends” or business, I previously experienced Casa Santo Domingo hotel as I love colonial, old, antique vibe of hotels. This time, I gave try to new place and what amazing choice! It is cozy, intimate, it has family vibe and you truly feel like home. Decorations, statues, combination of wood and stone, candles- what a weekend! I recommend this tiny “hotel” ( its more than that- it is like a family villa for only the right people!!)
We loved everything, the place itself was beautiful close to the town centre but in a location that was peaceful and quiet, the management and staff were efficient, friendly and the service was brilliant.
Great location with friendly and helpful staff. Place is very clean with a good breakfast. Lovely communal area to sit looking out on a peaceful garden.
The food from L'osteria restaurant. The bathroom tiles. The bed was great. The fact that they donate money to help local children education.
What a beautiful hotel!! We don't want to leave and will definitely be back. The staff were so wonderful and made our stay even better.
Great location, super helpful staff, allowed us to park an extra day when we went on a tour. Nice bedrooms with own bathroom. Hot showers.
